They're fed up!
Things are heating up in the world of Teen Mom, and it might not end well for some of MTV’s biggest stars. As changes continue to be made to the cast and filming process, the overwhelming question in many fans’ minds is how much longer the show will be filming for.
Some fans would love to see Teen Mom continue until it should be called Thirty-year-old Mom, but there’s one person in particular who wants it all to come to an end. Surprisingly enough, it’s one of the cast members themselves.
Call it off!
When Farrah Abraham wants something, she doesn’t stop fighting for it until she gets her way. If Farrah gets her way this time, it could spell disaster for the rest of her Teen Mom cast members and be a huge disappointment to the millions of fans who tune into the show every week.
It’s no secret that Farrah currently has it out for MTV, who seem to have been in the process of firing her from the show since October. What may be more surprising to fans is Farrah’s decision to sue the network after their decision, going after them for $5 million because she claims she has been “harassed, humiliated, discriminated, disrespected, ridiculed, degraded and s*x shamed” at the hands of the network and executive producer Morgan J. Freeman.
At this point, it’s clear that Farrah isn’t going to stop her war against MTV until she’s won. At the end of the day, $5 million might not be a huge amount to such a sizable network, but pulling the plug on one of their most lucrative franchises, Teen Mom could cost them a massive amount down the line. Apparently, that’s exactly what Farrah wants!
Racist & Immoral!
It seems that Farrah would like the entire Teen Mom franchise to get the axe, and she’s taking actions to make it happen. She’s getting input from many fans who agree with her by circulating a petition to get Teen Mom formally cancelled.
Farrah retweeted the petition, which accuses Teen Mom and its cast members of some pretty ugly things.
“We believe everyone involved in the creation of these shows started out with good intentions,” reads the petition. “However, over the years the tone of the shows have changed, with the focus being high ratings and monetary gain for Network/show creators.” The petition writers add that the cast’s children have been “put in the most jeopardy.”
They go on to claim:
“The shows now support and encourage racist views, irresponsible behavior, immoral behavior, favor based on bias, defamation of individuals who are in no way involved in the show, illegal behavior, drug use, domestic violence, DUI and bullying.”
Ugly Track Record
In addition to this, they claim that many of the shows are guilty of “public bullying” in order to “support a fictional storyline.”
The petition includes a lengthy list of offenses that the cast members have committed in the petition writer’s eyes. They claim that Kailyn Lowry has used her star status to “defame” her baby daddy Chris Lopez, and also bemoan the fact that she often drives without her seatbelt. They even accuse Kailyn of being racist, and of physically assaulting Javi Marroquin on camera.
They point out that Amber Portwood’s ex-fiancé Matt Baier brought illegal drugs on set, and that Amber assaulted Gary Shirley on camera. They bring to light the fact that Ryan Edwards was filmed driving high to his own wedding, putting himself, his wife, and anyone else on the road at risk of death.
Bad Odds
They add offenses such as Tyler Baltierra publicly using the n-word, Leah Messer’s alleged drug addiction and David Eason’s recent firing.
Finally, the petition accuses the show of being biased for not hiring any black Teen Mom stars, of producing fake storylines, and of exploiting “children having children”.
Although Farrah herself didn’t write these accusations, her retweeting and spreading the petition implies she agrees with them all.
Farrah seems to be wholly behind this movement, but the same can’t be said of the fanbase. Unsurprisingly for weekly viewers of Teen Mom, they’re not very happy about the idea of the show getting cancelled. At this time, the petition only has 168 signatures — including Farrah’s!
