After weeks of Maci worrying about him, he finally checked into rehabilitation for his substance abuse problems. But recently, it seems like those old habits are coming back to him.
After the truth came out that Ryan had attended his own wedding high, fans slammed MTV for allowing Ryan to drive a car while high. But MTV is reaching out with their explanation.

Weddings can be life changing days for both groom and bride, but apparently Ryan needed to be high to get through it.
Even though Ryan spent time in rehab for his substance abuse problems, it seems like the issue hasn’t entirely resolved itself.
Mackenzie Standifer herself accused Ryan of being high on Xanax on the way to their own wedding. And Ryan’s reaction made the answer pretty clear.
Swerving

Mackenzie noticed something was wrong with her fiancé right before their wedding. When she realized Ryan was swerving, she tried to straighten out the wheel.
Then she asked, “Why are you swerving?”
Ryan responded, “My eyes, babe, in the sunlight I can’t keep ’em open.”
Mackenzie asked if he was on Xanax, but Ryan insisted he wasn’t, telling her, “I put that on my kid’s life.”
Facing Backlash

Seeing Ryan as intoxicated as he was was very upsetting for some of the fans. However, what many found to be even more upsetting was the fact that MTV allowed it to happen while he was behind the wheel.
Viewers took to social media, demanding MTV explain why they wouldn’t intervene while Ryan was behind the wheel under the influence.
In a statement obtained by People, the network said, “MTV does not condone driving under the influence. Ryan’s erratic behavior was due to actions that he took without anyone’s prior knowledge.” But one of the crew members had more to say.
