She's out for good!
There will come a time down the road when the Teen Mom cast decide that they want to stop filming. They’ve always been open about the stress that comes with shooting and being in the public eye, so it’s no wonder that they would want to cut it off at some point. But the show has recently been garnering more and more attention, so it’s surprising to think that any of the cast members would pull out so soon with more seasons (and probably more money) on the way.
But now it looks like one of the main Teen Mom cast members is going to be a no-show for the rest of the season, and potentially for the entirety of the series. Fans are surely going to miss her!
Pulling the Plug
When Farrah makes up her mind about something, it’s pretty difficult to make her budge. Recently, she’s had every reason to decide that MTV and its executives are her biggest enemy. After all, the network reportedly told her she was fired for being an adult entertainer — then revealed that she wasn’t fired after all! MTV has taken Farrah on quite the whirlwind lately, so it’s no wonder that she’s retaliating.
In a recent interview with In Touch Weekly, Farrah spilled the beans about her recent parenting decisions. Among them was her choice to pull her daughter, Sophia, from filming for Teen Mom OG. “I will say Sophia is not going to continue to be on Teen Mom. Sophia is not going to continue to talk about sex and unplanned pregnancies and all that stuff.”
It seems that Farrah wants Sophia to have time to focus on her own goals. “She’ll go on to do something better, and hopefully she’ll be doing makeup brands or clothing. She’s already in fashion, so that’s more her thing and her life.” Farrah and Sophia recently celebrated the opening of Sophia’s boutique, Sophia Laurent, so Sophia certainly has enough on her plate for an adult, let alone a seven-year-old!
Farrah’s father Michael seems to support her decision to pull Sophia from the show. “Honestly I think Farrah is a great mom and is protecting her daughter Sophia which is what any parent would do,” Michael told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.
But not everyone was quite so supportive. Fans on Reddit sounded off, and many of them think there’s more to Farrah’s decision than she’s letting on.
User YouKnowHowChoicesBe sounded off:
“This is typical Farrah behavior. She projects this s–t onto her daughter. It allows her to avoid having to take a meaningful stand about anything. Sophia doesn’t talk about sex and unplanned pregnancies. Farrah has to know this. But if she makes this about Sophia, she can avoid having to make a definitive choice or an intelligent statement about anything… Sophia is Farrah’s pawn. Farrah has a pattern of asking Sophia adult questions (ie: where do you want to live?) and when Sophia gives a ‘wrong’ answer, Farrah promptly corrects her and discredits her opinion. This is why I think it’s disgusting that she’s forcing these adult career choices onto her. Let her be a kid.”
It’s clear that Farrah is facing some seriously difficult decisions of her own recently, and there’s no question that it’s weighed heavily on her. It’s no wonder that she’s gone on numerous furious rants about her treatment by MTV since her botched cam show in October.
Longtime fans will remember that Farrah isn’t the only cast member who made the choice to pull their child from Teen Mom filming. In fact, it’s something she and Maci Bookout have in common. Ironically, though, the reason Maci didn’t want Bentley to film anymore was because of Farrah! Once Farrah was invited back to Teen Mom OG filming in early seasons, Maci didn’t want Bentley to film with someone who had made adult entertainment videos…
