Is she messing up?
Leah Messer may have cleaned up her act a lot in recent years, but that doesn’t mean she’s popular with everyone now. It’s true that when it comes to being a parent, Leah has taken some serious steps forward, but many still aren’t happy with her mothering decisions.
Lately, fans have been more upset with Leah then ever when it comes to the way she treats her daughters. Are fans right to be upset about Leah allegedly “exposing” her beautiful children in this new photo?
Leah Messer has some serious skeletons in her closet, some of which she refuses to speak about with fans. From her two divorces and two baby daddies to rumors that she was heavily addicted to drugs, there are some parts of her life that she would probably rather not discuss. And it’s easy for many fans to overlook them considering her massive glow-up and general positivity lately. Even so, it’s not quite as easy for fans to overlook what many consider to be a huge parenting mistake.
For many, this picture of Leah’s daughter Aleeah Grace is just any other shot of her adorable daughter. Leah captioned it, “I know, I know… Mini- me. ??,” and appropriately so — Aleeah looks just like a tiny Leah! But there’s one thing that fans were less than thrilled about, and that’s the fact that Aleeah looks much older than her nine years of age due to the amount of makeup she’s wearing.
“To much makeup on a child,” wrote Instagram user @heidicaluza. “she is prettier without. ❤️” User @danni_84712 wrote, “She is too little for all that makeup.” User @beccaferg wrote, “Why so much makeup? It’s like teaching kids the are not beautiful without it! I agree less is more!” However, there were those willing to stand up for Leah as well, pointing out that this amount of makeup is normal for young cheerleaders.
“Do y’all realize the point of this makeup?” wrote @annamadeit7. “It’s not even about beauty. It’s literally to make their features stand out. Why? It makes it so much easier to see their expressions from far away. It’s easier to see if the kid is smiling, making a silly face, or having fun when their features are highlighted so much.” This didn’t win over everyone, with users like @amanda._xoxo not buying it. They wrote, “yeah I do not agree with it I get the sport but to sexualize a child … that’s not for women we don’t want that so why do it.”
However, makeup wasn’t the only concern fans had about Leah’s parenting. They were also unhappy about what some saw to be favoritism for Aleeah over her twin sister Ali. Leah captioned this shot of the twins together, “Always better together! ?#twins #sisters #bestfriendgoals #love.”
“If only you treated them equally ?” wrote user @briblegit. User @cassymae1990 wrote, “I hope Ali never feels insecure! She’s got the best heart!” And this is far from the first time Leah has been accused of treating Ali differently from her sister.
