He won't go!
Teen Mom offers a huge amount of drama, cat fights, and tales of love and loss, but it also follows some much darker paths. Over the years, the show has revealed some of the very real tragedies that touch people’s lives ― struggles such as abuse, mental illness, and abandonment. That’s why the show has never shied away from portraying the very real and widespread problem of drug addiction.
Being a reality star doesn’t automatically mean that the members of Teen Mom are immune to drug addiction. We saw firsthand how much Jenelle Evans struggled to get clean from heroin and break her addiction to marijuana, and were even shown how much Catelynn Lowell relied on marijuana to self-medicate her anxiety.
But there are some cast members who still struggle with this type of addiction, and it’s the main thing that Maci Bookout and Chelsea Houska have in common. Both of them are struggling to co-parent with a baby daddy who is trying to get clean.
Now, it’s clear that Chelsea’s ex, Adam Lind, is reaching an incredibly low point in his struggle with addiction. Despite recent arrests, restraining orders, and mental health problems being revealed, Adam Lind is now reportedly refusing rehab to treat his problems.
Like all of his co-stars, Adam Lind has changed a huge amount since his first appearance on 16 and Pregnant. After a long-term on-and-off relationship with Chelsea Houska, Adam eventually fell into drug addiction, steroid use, and even jail time.
On top of the toll Adam’s addiction is taking on his legal record, it’s also clearly taking a toll on his mental health. It was recently revealed that Adam’s (other) ex filed a restraining order against him wherein she detailed his suicidal tendencies.
Those in Adam’s life want him to recover, and rehabilitation is a common option for drug addiction. However, Adam reportedly refuses to check in to rehab.
“He Won’t Go”
“It’s bad,” a source close to Adam said in an interview with Radar Online. “He’s so far off the deep end that his friends can’t even be around him anymore.” They added that although friends of Adam’s have asked him to go to rehab, “He won’t go.”
Chelsea opened up about how Adam’s lifestyle if affecting their co-parenting during the recent Teen Mom 2 reunion. “I’m glad I took precautions and he isn’t allowed to drive with [Aubree],” she said. “You know you are making the right decision, but you question it.”
But it’s not just the people from Adam’s past that his addiction is affecting, but also those in his present. His ex girlfriend Stasia Huber alleged that Adam physically abused her in her recently filed restraining order. “While under the influence of drugs, alcohol, and steroids, he fractured my forearm, locked me in the house saying I couldn’t leave, smashed my phone, and once he realized what he had done, he broke down crying and took me to the ER,” she revealed.
