What really kicked off fan speculation that Kailyn had become involved with Cueva was an interview he gave to MTV. The interview was in preparation of the new season’s premiere, helping fans get to know the producers that would be breaking the fourth wall.
In the interview, JC had some flattering things to say about the young mother, and fans took notice.
“We get along great.”

“I joke around with her a lot. She likes me as a person, but she hates that I have to be a producer sometimes,” he said of his relationship with Kailyn. Apparently, his phrasing raised some eyebrows.
“We get along really great, and I think she respects me,” JC added.

While I don’t really see the hints at a more-than-friends/coworkers relationship here, many fans took that to mean that they had gotten closer than he was letting on, especially given how much he said that they talk. I mean, the other producers said similar things about their Teen Mom.
