Called Out!
Ever since last week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 aired, there have been some serious reactions from the cast, particularly on Jenelle’s part. Jenelle was furious with the way that MTV edited the events of the episode, saying that they portrayed her life in a completely different light than reality. It got fans and Teen Mom stars alike discussing where the truth really lies, and in the meantime, Jenelle even threatened to quit the show.
Although many people side with Jenelle, there are also people who have criticized her reaction. Tons of fans have said that the episode seemed authentic, and that Jenelle was simply trying to cover up the complications of her relationship. Among these critics is one of her co-stars, who says that Jenelle has no right to be upset about the episode.

After last week’s episode, Jenelle had some words to share with MTV and her fans. She was angry with the way she was presented, claiming that her relationship with David came off as much rockier than it truly is.
She took to Instagram to share her frustrations. She wrote:
“Yes, me and David have our ups and downs but yesterday’s episode was uncalled for. Because David didn’t feel like explaining another argument or drama on camera they make it look as if David is hiding some weird ass shit from the public as if he was hurting me in some way?!”
She even said that she plans to leave Teen Mom 2.
“I have decided after this season I’m probably calling it quits for filming this show. I told Morgan it’s getting to out of hand and it’s not healthy for us anymore, just harming us mentally. They treat all of us as if we are in a freak show and in cages. WE aren’t human beings to @mtv what-so-ever… Once they treat me with respect I’ll be back, if they don’t I’ll be happy with the life I’ve got. I told them this last night. #MarriedLife #MIA.”
Even though many people have sided with Jenelle, just as many are calling her out for her threat to quit. Among them are the one and only Javi Marroquin, who said as much in a recent interview with Radar Online.
The former husband of Teen Mom 2‘s Kailyn Lowry didn’t mince words. He told the outlet:
“I feel like every girl has threatened to leave the show since we started this years ago. I hate when they say that because if you take out the doors that it opens, the money it provides, the house you’re living in, take all of that out and where would you be?”
He added that the Teen Mom cast should “count their blessings.”

“We’re human, too,” he added. “We get annoyed and we get frustrated. But at the end of the day, work with them and they work with you. I’ve heard I want to quit since we started this. People need to be humble.”
As for Jenelle’s complaints about editing, Javi had plenty of opinions about that as well.
“You control your story. You do what you do on camera. You know you’re being filmed. If you’re going to act that way, own it. I don’t think you can edit whatever is going on that’s happening. If I get a bad edit then I deserve it. If I said something stupid or did something stupid. We signed up for it. Realize it and change.”
Fans chimed in on Reddit about where they stood on Javi’s comments.
“Hell yes, Javi,” wrote user pizza_elf. “Javi hasn’t always looked good on camera, but at least he doesn’t use ‘editing’ as an excuse. What’s scary is that what we see is Jenelle’s best behaviour on camera, imagine what it’s like at their house when no one’s filming them.”
User courtines agreed. “I don’t know if you can ‘control’ your story, but it’s pretty difficult to make someone look bad if you don’t give them any ammunition. Even if editing can be pretty selective at times, they can’t show you doing something you didn’t do or saying something you didn’t say,” they wrote.
Others thought Javi was just looking for attention. User hayleybutwithay wrote:
“1. He does remember he is not an original cast member, right? 2. How does he think he is relevant? Is he scared her leaving will cause the show to end? Is this what their ‘adult conversation’ was about?” User MrsMickeyKnox added, “Oh he remembers, he just doesn’t want us to remember. He really wants to stay on MTV- first dating an ex-Real Worlder, then trying to get on the Challenge, now hanging out with Brianna… if the show gets cancelled I’ll be expecting a ‘leaked sex tape’ from him.”
