So that's why they keep getting pregnant!
A woman who gets pregnant in her teens is quite likely to have more children in her teens and twenties, but she’s not likely to graduate high school, go to college, or make good money for herself. So when we watch Teen Mom and see women in their mid-twenties, mostly unmarried, raising multiple children and not working traditional jobs, we’re not seeing an accurate representation of the life of a teen mom.
The moms on the show get paid a pretty penny for their appearance on the series, so they’re constantly getting sought after for endorsements and appearances for other companies. According to this former Teen Mom 2 star, they also get paid to pop out more kids.
Revisiting Gary Head
Here’s a recap of Gary, if you don’t remember him. Gary Head dated Jenelle for most of 2012; he even proposed to her and she accepted. In June 2012, they got into a bad fight with each other, and they were both arrested for assault.
She then got back with her ex Kieffer Delp who got her into heroin. She left Kieffer to go to rehab, then got with Courtland Rogers and married him. Jenelle left Courtland after a domestic dispute about a month after their marriage, and she had a miscarriage. That’s when she picked back up with Gary for a short time before going back to rehab in February 2013.
Jenelle wrote about this turbulent time in her life in detail in her new book Read Between the Lines: Diary of a Teenage Mother, which included information about her issues with Gary, which upset him.
He took to Twitter to express his dismay over Jenelle’s confessions about him, saying, “Ya know, I could really care less about my ex Jenelle but what bothers me is her writing about me to make money off it. #PayMe.”
Dropping the Bomb
Though Gary hasn’t been on the show for quite some time, he claims to have inside information about how much the moms get if they get pregant again. He tweeted, “Y’all do know that MTV pays these women 20K to have another kid. They wanna keep the ‘drama’ going.”
He continued, “I have no kids, but common sense tells me that having a child isn’t worth the 20K they give out. That’s just the first year for that poor soul.”
And that’s not all Gary had to say…
