MTV will give the kids more options that the moms had
Women who become mothers, while still in their teens, are highly unlikely to graduate with a high school diploma. They’re even less likely to attend college, and their chances for getting a job with a good, livable salary are low. The more kids they have, the more these statistics become true. The children of teenage-moms are probably going to follow in their footsteps by having children young and remaining in poverty.
But Randy Houska, the ultimate Teen Mom gossip, has just told the world that MTV plans on giving the children on the shows the opportunity to do better than their parents.
Obviously, all of the women on the Teen Mom shows got pregnant by the age of 19, but most of them were years younger than that. Though they were always given plenty of money to be filmed, they were too young to know how to spend it wisely.
We’ve seen so many of them take on bad relationships, struggle to keep meaningful employment, and have even more kids. These young women may have been making money, but the kids didn’t always have the most stable lives.
Last year, Jenelle, complained about living on food stamps, even though she’s currently building an amazing home.
Maybe MTV wanted to make sure they wouldn’t be called out for exploiting the innocent children on the show, without whom their shows would not have happened. So they’ve taken steps to ensure that the children of Teen Mom will be provided for for a long time to come….
