Halloween is a big day for parents and children alike. It’s the one day of the year that children get to dress up as whatever they want, and when parents have a lot of love for their children, they go all out helping them put together their favorite costumes.
Being a mother comes with a whole set of hardships, but being a celebrity mother can add a whole new set of issues into the mix. The cast of Teen Mom has experienced these difficulties first hand, and they didn’t disappoint when it came to Halloween. All of the moms posted adorable pictures of their kids in their costumes, but now fans are worried that Leah Messer went too far.
Now, fans are speaking out about how Leah may have put her children’s safety and health at risk, all for a Halloween costume. Has Leah crossed the line this time?

Leah posted some adorable pictures of her and her three girls in their Halloween costumes. The family seemed to have a wonderful night out trick-or-treating, and even got to attend a Halloween parade. The girls look happy and healthy as ever, and that’s why one picture Leah shared of her children was so upsetting. In fact, for many fans it was straight up scary, but not because it was Halloween!

In this picture, Ali and Aleeah pose for the camera, looking adorable as ever. But it doesn’t take long to notice something different about them: they appear to be wearing green colored contacts on top of their naturally blue eyes. Leah captioned this shot, “The Simms twins are getting a little creepy!”
Many fans sounded off in the comments about how cute the look was. “Whow one green eye and one blue eye for each kid… cool how long did it take to get their contacts in?” wrote Instagram user heath717. User haliehan91 wrote, “So cute! What did the girls think when they saw themselves?”
User corbonirobey agreed, “That’s awesome, didnt even notice the contacts just thought she took picture of them when she woke them up and they were mean mugging her. Beautiful girls.”

But others were worried about the girls’ health. Leah has been accused of treating Ali differently from Aleeah, but now she’s facing accusations of putting their health at risk. Reddit user whikeytangofoxtrot wrote, “Listen, I love Leah and I’m so proud of how far she’s come! However, I don’t think it’s the smartest idea to put non prescription colored ‘play’ contacts in 8 year olds eyes. I feel like that is just a scratched cornea waiting to happen.”
User nolacoffeewhore wrote, “Lmao some of you will dig for literally anything to criticize. It’s insane.” But many other users pointed out that colored contacts have the potential to be very dangerous.
User loseitby2018 wrote “My local news just did a story on a kid who is now legally blind in one eye because of colored contacts purchased from a gas station. It’s a real issue.”
User dogsinpajamas wrote “They are not recommended by eye doctors. They can cause infections and other unsavory issues. Not smart but she probably didn’t know.” Fans were angry on Instagram as well, where user iamredneckbarbi wrote: “Whoever THINKS This is OKAY is young and DUMB. For real. Look at their poor eyes u can clearly see they r IRRITATED and red. Don’t do this to ur kids.”
