What Farrah and Debra Are Like in Real Life!
As many Teen Mom fans know, Debra offered an opportunity for her biggest fans to get an inside look into her life. The star put on a random drawing for fans to get the opportunity to attend her wedding to Dr. David Merz. Luckily, one of those fans was happy to spill all of the beans about the wedding, down to the smallest detail!
When Debra Danielsen met David, she thought that she had found the perfect man. That is, until Farrah met him! Debra’s engagement to David soon became a huge point of contention between Farrah and her mother, and they fought constantly about Farrah’s disdain and hatred for her future stepfather.
Despite Farrah’s distaste for her mother’s man, Debra decided to go through with her wedding, even in the face of her daughter threatening not to come! Her decision resulted in one of the most unique weddings in Teen Mom history.
Farrah even had a change of heart — the Back Door Teen Mom even showed up at the last minute!

Here comes the bride!

It’s official! Debra Danielsen is now officially Debra Merz. The happy couple tied the knot at the Scott Aquarium at the Omaha Zoo last weekend. In classic Debra fashion, she kept it ultra-unique with an under-the-sea-themed wedding.
The ceremony also incorporated Scottish bagpipes, David wore a kilt, and Debra was head to toe in white lace! The “OG Mom” wore her hair curled and sported henna on her hands! MTV didn’t film the wedding, but luckily, an insider who was in attendance was happy to give all of the details on Reddit.
User Debz_Flower_Girl answered numerous questions from fellow fans. She wrote, “Debz had a contest on twitter to win an invite to her wedding. I entered and won, so my bestie and I attended her wedding last night. It was a blast.”
Naturally, they didn’t just have nice things to say. When user Inmybubble asked “Is Dr David as creepy in real life as he is on Teen Mom?” the insider wrote, “Yes. Also not a fan of hugs, but I hugged everyone else, so…..haha.” They later added, that he was “Standoffish. Super wasn’t a fan of me giving him a hug. but I did because I was drunkish. And I had just hugged Deb. So whatever.”
Many fans wanted to know what it was like to meet Farrah and Debra in person. User notyouraveragebear1 wrote “I have to ask – is their plastic surgery as noticeable in person?” The insider replied, “Deb looks a lot younger in person – or at least a lot younger than she used to. But both her and Farrah seemed more natural looking in person.”
There were many no-shows at Debra’s wedding, and the fans were curious about that, too. Amber Portwood, Sophia Abraham, Michael Abraham, and Courtland Rogers were all expected to show, but did not attend. Another notable no-show was Farrah’s notorious ex, Simon Saran. The insider writes, “I did not see him at all so I don’t think so. I did send him a message on snapchat asking if he was going – no response but he opened the message.”

One of the most surprising comments from the insider was Farrah’s personality, and how it didn’t seem to match up with what fans see on the show:
“[Farrah] was super nice. Really pleasant, gave me a hug, and thanked us for coming. She was really really nice. She seemed like she really cared about Deb in her speech. Nothing like she seems like in the show. Now I don’t know how much that was just ‘be nice to the bride on her wedding’, but it seemed real.”
They added of the family, “I feel like they know drama sells – so thats what they do when they’re being filmed. Seemed like a nice loving family [in person].”
Farrah was even involved in the wedding, as honorary Maid of Honor, despite rumors that she was skipping the big day. “[Debra] had a man of honor – I think her hair stylist thats been on the show… But Farrah did give a speech. It was sweet. [Farrah’s sister] Ashley did too, but hers was unexpected and I think Farrah put her on the spot a bit but she gave a short speech too.”
They also added that Farrah’s speech was one of the highlights of the wedding, writing, “It was super sweet, and she honestly seemed like she loved Deb. She even was nice to Dr. David and commented something about how they’ve had their issues, she’s happy that they’re together. It was really, really sweet.”
Farrah wore black from head to toe, and, apparently, Debra truly didn’t know whether her daughter would be in attendance. “They had a guest check in since it was after hours at the zoo, and I saw Farrah listed as ‘confirmed’ on the list when we first checked in, so I was super excited,” wrote the insider.
The insider also opened up about Debra’s personality saying that the star “came over once while [they] were eating.” The insider described their interaction with Debz as “really sweet.” They continued, “there was a red carpet take a pic with the bride and groom thing, and she was really sweet then and gave me a hug. It was a lot of fun – def something I will remember!”
