Kail tells all!
Kailyn Lowry has had a pretty unique experience with motherhood, even by Teen Mom standards. She just gave birth to her third son by her third baby daddy, and during the entire pregnancy he was nowhere to be seen. But as we’ve often seen in the Teen Mom universe, everything came together in the eleventh hour. When Kailyn went into labor, Chris was there by her side, even though no one expected him to show up!
Now, Kailyn is opening up about her experience giving birth to her newest (and still nameless) baby in a new video!

Complications

In a deleted scene from Teen Mom 2, Kailyn opens up on her pregnancy, telling MTV that it was even more complicated than we all thought―and the relationship drama was the least of her concerns. In fact, she was worried about the health risks that she had leading up to the delivery. “I just get nervous,” she says in a conversation with her friend Jennifer. “I had 3D ultrasound. They switched to 3D, and I bawled.”
She explains: “When I went to fetal maternal medicine, I saw one of the doctors there, and he basically said the same thing that… I never told you this. I actually haven’t talked to anyone about this… because I’m high-risk.”
Jennifer asks if they said why, and Kailyn explains, “Well, Isaac was early, and then plus, like, all the complications I’ve had. He’s afraid of me going into pre-term labor.” She adds that she’s been “really, really stressed,” which doesn’t help.
Smooth Labor

But, astoundingly, it seems that the delivery went even more smoothly than Kailyn could have hoped for. She describes it as her “best labor.”
“Labor happened so fast,” she says. “Like, literally, from start to finish it was two hours.” Pretty impressive considering that she did it the all-natural way! “I begged for an epidural but there was just no time. My doctor didn’t make it to delivery,” she told her friend!
Apparently, Baby Lo wasn’t going to come on anyone else’s time frame! Kailyn tells her friend that her “water broke at 1:30 in the morning, and [she] got to the hospital by like 2:40.” She explains that she delivered her youngest son just 20 minutes later at 3:00 am!
Kailyn also opened up about her happiness that Chris decided to come to the delivery. She says, “I think I was always hoping [Chris] would come, but just based on how our relationship has been, there was always like a question whether he would have his phone on him or would he be at work… But I’m so glad he came.”
In fact, Radar Online reports that Chris was the only person in the delivery room. Even though Kailyn and Chris aren’t a couple, and Chris seemed to want nothing to do with his child, Kail continued to hold out hope that he would come through. An insider told Radar, “She wants to give him the opportunity to see his child being born. She never said Chris couldn’t be involved with his child. She would hope he would want that, but she won’t force it or chase him to do so.”
How much of a role Chris will play in his son’s life, though, is still yet to be determined. But at least he was there in his son’s first moments.
