Losing weight isn’t easy for everyone — in fact, for a lot of people it’s a serious struggle. Maybe that’s why when celebrities drop a lot of weight and reveal stunning bodies, it can often be the biggest news of the day. However, depending on how quickly they lose weight and what their methods are, it can also be followed with its fair share of criticism, as fans worry that celebrities are promoting unhealthy habits to their fans.
While some fans are defending this Teen Mom star’s stunning and rapid weight loss, others are concerned that there might be some bad habits lurking beneath the surface.
Weight Melting Off
When your entire celebrity status revolves around getting pregnant and having children, you’re going to have some serious weight fluctuations. Pair that with the expectations put on celebrities to be slim, and it makes sense how many of the Teen Mom cast members have worked hard to drop their excess weight every time they get pregnant. However, this cast member hasn’t had that exact experience — since Tyler Baltierra himself has never gotten pregnant!
Despite this, Tyler has dropped a shocking 26 pounds in the past few weeks, and looks like an entirely different person. He posted a before and after picture of his profile, sharing the exciting news. “26lbs DOWN!!! To be honest I didn’t even want to take a before picture, because I was already thinking of me not sticking with it & then having the evidence of failure to look back on. But DAYYUMM dude!” he wrote.
“This got me feeling some type of way right now! Left picture was almost 5 weeks ago & Right picture was today. Eating healthier just feels better & obviously looks better hahaha lol BOOM! 😂🤣👊🏻,” he added.
It’s impossible to deny that Tyler’s weight loss is impressive, but digging deeper into his methods has left some fans scratching their heads.
There are numerous different ways to go about weight loss, but Tyler focused on what he was putting in his mouth. He recently shared a picture of his breakfast on Snapchat, explaining how he went about it. On an image of a piece of raisin bread and a coffee mug, Tyler wrote, “Coffee and a piece of toast for breakfast (the ONLY carb I eat). Then an apple for lunch and a salmon, chicken or sliced steak salad for dinner.” He added, “No snacking! (Unless it’s an apple or orange.) The weight just melts off, BOOM!”
Toast for breakfast, an apple for lunch and a salad for dinner might be a way to lose weight fast, but it would be difficult — and unhealthy — for many people to keep that up in the long term, as many fans pointed out on Reddit.
“I’m sorry but that’s not healthy and not a way to effectively lose weight and keep it off,” wrote Reddit user catfor. “The second he eats anything of actual substance his crash diet is going to bite him in the a**.”
User shellyq7 agreed, “I applaud him for the effort, lord knows I could use some of that motivation. But 26 pounds in 5 weeks does not seem healthy.”
Hopefully Tyler can explore healthy maintenance options, because many fans are thrilled with his weight loss update. User wignewton wrote, “i’m so f**king happy for him!!! concentrating on what you can control & better like your home, hobby, parenting, work, & most importantly-health can be so satisfying when horrible things are happening that are out of your hands.”
