Her diagnosis has come out!
Mental illness is something that many of the Teen Mom cast members have struggled with throughout the years. Although many of them have kept their struggles secret, over the years, many have become more vocal about their experiences. Unfortunately, mental illness still comes with a huge amount of stigma, so it’s no wonder that many people still want to keep their difficulties under wraps. Could Farrah Abraham be doing just that?
Farrah has been open about her childhood struggles and her battles throughout motherhood, but now it appears that there may be something else going on with her. In the midst of her firing from Teen Mom OG, it’s just been revealed that Farrah may have a shocking diagnosis.
It’s no secret that Farrah Abraham had a rocky upbringing. She has revealed that she suffered a great deal of childhood trauma, and the father of her child, Derek Underwood, was killed in a car accident while she was still pregnant with Sophia. With all of this in her past, it’s no question that she’s been through some dark times. But is there something else going on with her mental health? According to her mother, Debra Danielsen, there is.
Debra made an appearance on the webshow Shot Topics, and of course the conversation quickly tilted to the realm of Teen Mom. And from there, Debra began to bring up mental illness.
“If you have borderline personality disorder, if you have narcissism, if you have any of these kinds of things, they’re all highly treatable,” Debra said on the show. She never named any names, but it seems that she’s talking about Farrah. She added, “All is not lost, but I will say deep down inside I know my daughter, she’s kind, she’s loving, she’s sweet and very compassionate,” saying that Farrah “just needs to step back a moment and take some time and get healthy and take time for her so she can heal.”
Not So Fast
Debra never came out and said that Farrah was diagnosed with these disorders, so it’s no surprise that many fans are a bit skeptical. “If this is true, Deb shared it because she has similar personality disorders,” wrote reddit user YouKnowHowChoicesBe. “Most of what Deb says is manipulative. Everything is a tool. I feel like neither Farrah [nor] Deb could ‘unconditionally’ love someone and actually care enough about someone to not use things like this as a weapon against them. Narcissistic children are often the result of a narcissistic parent.”
User constatnreader55 even theorized, “Deb doesn’t care about farrah. She cares about fame and money. Now that farrah is supposedly low on money and fired from mtv I think we’ll see a lot more solo ventures from deb, while she desperately tries to keep her name out there.”
In the meantime, Farrah likely as much more on her mind than what rumors her mother is spreading about her. She’s currently in the midst of suing MTV for $5 million!
