This paints things in a different light!
It’s no surprise that most people with drug charges in their past don’t advertise their experience with substance abuse. Many people who have completely moved on from such offenses would rather forget that portion of their lives and move on. In fact, some of them completely deny that they’ve ever had run-ins with drugs at all.
One Teen Mom star seems to be going the denial route. After fans noticed their alarming behavior during this week’s episode of Teen Mom OG, they took to social media to deny the claims. Now, reports are showing that they have a history of substance abuse after all.
Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra started off this season of Teen Mom OG as positive and optimistic as always. As the season goes on, things get more and more difficult for them, as their mental illness and family problems flair up. Tyler has been working hard to get his father Butch into rehab, and Catelynn Lowell has just checked into treatment for her sucidial thoughts for a second time in recent months. Now, it’s clear that their difficulties expand farther than fans have thought.
In this week’s episode of Teen Mom, Tyler must retrieve his father Butch from his sister Amber’s house to bring him back to rehab. Amber reveals that her home has no electricity while the power bill changes from Butch’s name to hers. This set off some red flags for fans, but Amber’s appearance and behavior made them even more alarmed.
“Got Me Worried”
“You could tell that Tyler was so uncomfortable being in that house,” one fan, candleandmeatloaf, wrote on Reddit. “He was a different person, seeming to dodge the cameras and even speak lower, trying to hurry away and taking deep calming breaths. It was hard to watch, tbh, especially because you could tell that the sister and Butch were both high.”
Even Butch himself was concerned about Amber’s behavior.
“Your sister got me really kind of worried,” he told Tyler. “She’s living with me so I see a whole lot nobody else sees.” He even broke down with concern about his grandchildren. “Amber got me so worried,” Butch said. “Those grandkids. I go to rehab then I abandon them. I been taking care of everything over there. They got nothing to eat sometimes.”
This user echoed the concerns of numerous fans, some of whom brought the concerns to Tyler and Amber themselves. Amber took to Instagram to set the record straight:
“For everybody who thinks i was on crystal meth, I feel so bad for you! I really do. I really feel bad for you that you’re that naive to the fact that MTV and their editing, that’s what makes for good TV.”
Now, it seems that fans may have had good reason to be suspicious of Amber. According to Radar Online, Tyler’s sister does, indeed, have a history of drug use.
Amber was arrested in April of 2013 for possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia and operation in violation of license restriction, according to the outlet. After pleading guilty, Amber received 20 days in jail.
