Back to Old Ways?
Being a reality star celebrity is a difficult lifestyle that only very few people will ever have to go through. It means constantly dealing with gossip, scrutiny, and being on camera for huge chunks of your life. It also means that every major decision you make will likely be criticized by many. It’s clear to see that, for some of the Teen Mom cast members, it takes a serious toll on their lives. In Leah Messer’s case, it may also be taking a toll on her parenting.
Leah has a history of off the rails parenting, and now, fans are concerned that she’s going back to these old ways.

It’s not easy being a mother when you had your first pregnancy as a teenager. Even though the cast members of Teen Mom don’t have much in common sometimes, this is something that they all went through. All of the moms dealt with the experience in their own unique ways, but for Leah Messer, it seems to have taken a pretty serious toll.
It hit a low point when Leah lost the custody of her twin daughters to Corey Simms while she was combatting drug rumors. It didn’t take long for her to bounce back and regain custody, as well as regain control of her life. But in this sneak peek of Teen Mom 2, it looks like she might be slipping back into her old ways.
Calling Kail

Not all of the Teen Mom stars would describe themselves as being BFFs, but Leah and Kailyn have always gotten along well. In this sneak peek, its Kailyn that Leah decides to call for a chat. When Kail picks up, she says, “Hi, gorgeous!” When Kailyn asks how she is, Leah says, “I’m a hot mess right now.” Kail says, “What? No you’re not! Shut up!”
Leah asks Kailyn how she’s feeling, and Kailyn replies, “I’m good. I’m doing alright… I’m excited to do the nursery and stuff like that.” Leah asks Kailyn to send her pictures. Then she asks, “Are you almost done with school?” And Kailyn replies, “Yeah, I have like sixty days left and then I graduate.”
Leah gives Kailyn a life update. She says, “I started selling lipstick and makeup through a company.” Supportive as ever, Kailyn says, “Sounds amazing! I’m excited to try your products.”
Leah says, “Recently, you know, I started college. The campus is like an hour away… and I feel like I’m neglecting my kids a little bit. I feel bad.”
Kailyn reassures her immediately. She says, “You’re not neglecting them! This is something you want to do and you have to do for yourself… Whatever you need to do to, like, get it done… Honestly, if you’re overbumming yourself with that drive, and thinking that you’re neglecting your girls, it’s going to show with your schoolwork.”
Leah agrees, “Well, it already is. I don’t want to drop school altogether, but I think if I do online classes it’ll be easier.”
Leah was accused of being a “monster mom” when she was seen feeding her children dinner at midnight on a weeknight. In another episode, she sent them to school late and without breakfast. Even though Leah has denied any history of drug use, she’s been caught slurring her words and even falling asleep mid-sentence.
