She must be feeling the heat!
When you’re a reality star, everything you do is dissected and analyzed by your fans and followers ― it’s not only while the cameras are rolling! By now, the Teen Mom cast members are fully aware that even their social media posts are going to get discussed by their fans, for better or for worse. Although many of the moms get a huge amount of love on Instagram, one small misstep can mean a pretty angry fan-base.
Leah Messer is experiencing this firsthand (again) after posting this controversial picture to her Instagram. Although she likely thought her post was no big deal, fans are disappointed with her… and they are calling her out for what they think is a huge oversight!
Leah Messer has had some seriously positive life changes since her debut on 16 and Pregnant. From struggling with (rumored but almost definitely true) addictions to cheating and everything in between, she’s now figuring out how to focus on herself and her three girls. So it’s no wonder that she decides to stop and share her happiness on social media every now and then.
The young mother-of-three recently shared a photo of her little family, with pride… but she probably didn’t realize that fans would be so upset when they saw it.
Leah posted this sweet picture of her leaning back with her three girls, Ali, Aleeah, and Grace. She wrote, “We had our own sleepover! #girltime is the #besttime #motherdaughter #bonding#mywholeworld #myeverything #mylife#aaa #thegang #mygirls #love #party#sleepover #makeup #princess #barbies#games #fun #love.” They were all beaming in the picture, but it’s a small detail that had fans upset: the fact that the girls were wearing makeup. Viewers were upset that Leah allowed such young girls to have makeup on at an early age.
“They are so sweet and precious I just wonder it seems like every picture they have make up on…..” wrote user iamashh30. “Why do your LITTLE girls always have lipstick on!!!” wrote user ambamz11. Others accused Leah of perpetuating gendered stereotypes and teaching her daughters that they need makeup to be beautiful.
Of course, many fans chimed in to defend her. “They’re HER little girls. It isn’t hurting a thing,” wrote user miss.mama.mae. User natalia80153 wrote, “Awesome picture you have such a beautiful family, its not what most people (haters) think as ideal, but it’s perfect in it’s own way.”
This is just one more thing to add to Leah’s plate, though it seems like she’s already got more than she can handle. While we’ve yet to see her stressors play out on TV, the star recently put all of her cards on the table and opened up on Twitter.
“Leah I’m so proud of how far you’ve come,” wrote one of her fans, Twitter user Karls_lee_94. “You’re one of my favorite teen moms now! You made mistakes in your past but you learnt from them, took responsibility & changed for the better you should be so proud of yourself girl!”
Leah responded, “We all make mistakes but it’s up to us rather we choose to grow from them or not! I want to be better every single day! #choosetogrow.”
Another fan, user gigithehatter, chimed in, saying, “Leah really has been doing so good. She was going down a bad path I think, and turned it around.” Leah responded, “Thanks. A journey not yet shared and only a few know… #onlyintime.”
“I hope you share it one day. It will inspire many!” replied the fan. Leah revealed, “It’s far deeper than any assumption thats been made. I know my story is going to inspire/change so many lives! #everythinghappensforareason.”
