Final Decision
It has been a long and difficult road for Jenelle Evans during her custody battle for her oldest son Jace. Jenelle signed custody rights over to her mother Barbara when Jace was just a baby. It was a mature decision at the time, and we applaud Jenelle for looking out for Jace’s best interests.
Jenelle fully intended to be reunited with her son once she could provide a better living environment for him. Jenelle felt that, because of her positive life changes and stability, she deserved to have her son back, but Barbara had other plans.

It was finally the day. Yesterday, May 24th, Jenelle and Barbara went to court for the final time over Jace’s custody agreement.
Jenelle was hoping to walk away with primary custody and be rejoined with her oldest child. Unfortunately, that’s not how it worked out for the Teen Mom star.
Visitation Plan

Jenelle did not receive primary custody, but she was awarded a visitation plan.
Jenelle revealed to E! News what the details of the new plan included. Jenelle will be able to have Jace on weekends, as well as holidays and summertime.
Sad Day

Jenelle revealed, “I’m not restricted to when my mom says I can have my son anymore, and at the moment that’s all I care about. [I] just want to spend time with my son. He will be home one day but today wasn’t the day, sadly.”
Jenelle said she has plans to fight for custody again in the future.
