When watching the cast of Teen Mom go through their day-to-day life on TV, it can be easy to forget that filming the show can be a full time job. Even if it weren’t for the headaches of raising children in front of a camera, it’s natural to need to call it quits from such hard work.
There will come a day when everyone’s favorite cast member decides to end their time with MTV, but for some, it will be sooner than others. It looks like, for Chelsea DeBoer, that might be any day now.
Chelsea has always been on the quieter side when it comes to the Teen Mom drama. Unlike the fighters like Jenelle and Briana, who seem to always be in a new Twitter war, she mostly keeps to herself and focuses on her family. She’s recently tied the knot with her beau Cole DeBoer; together they had Chelsea’s second child, Watson DeBoer. Between raising Watson and her older daughter Aubree and dealing with the headaches of having an ex like Adam Lind, Chelsea has a lot on her plate.
Lately it seems that she’s been becoming more and more dissatisfied with MTV. Recently multiple members of the Teen Mom family have been calling out the network for the way that they edit the TV show. Chelsea recently tweeted, “Just a little something that irked me about the show tonight. Theres a part where I say ‘I feel like it’s taking away from Cole’s experience’… And that was taken out of context from a different convo and added in that scene for some reason #RealityTVprobs.”
Her co-star Kailyn Lowry chimed in, “They did they several times on tonight’s episodes. And provoked the scene with Isaac crying at dinner!!! And I lost my mind!!!” Kailyn also pointed out more evidence of the network’s editing when she tweeted, “Let’s talk about how bad the timeline is off tonight. The wall paint and how it flips from mint to yellow back to mint.”
Chelsea, who also expressed that she was annoyed that the cast wasn’t allowed to look over or approve the episodes before they aired, seems to have mounting irritation with the show. So when her co-star Briana DeJesus complained about MTV, Chelsea was right there to back it up.
“Lol why am I still getting heat for saying white girls,” Briana tweeted. “I’m sorry my daughter doesn’t understand ‘caucasian girls.'” In the episode, when her daughter Nova asks to have her hair straightened, Briana explains that “white girls” with straight hair can’t have braids like Nova’s.
It wasn’t long before Chelsea chimed in about the incident. She tweeted, “Welcome to being back on tv lol….. People will literally rip apart anything you say. They always gotta find something!” Briana replied that being under constant scrutiny is “the worst thing ever.”
It’s not hard to see why Chelsea may be considering calling the show quits and ending all of the drama once and for all. With mounting rumors that Maci Bookout may also be on her way off of the network, we may be seeing some changes in the Teen Mom 2 cast by the time next season rolls around.
