“Following the terrible tragedy in Florida where 17 people lost their lives, David & Jenelle … displayed gross insensitivity by posting disturbing pictures and videos on social media,” the petition reads. They accuse the couple of “[attacking] several women,” “calling them ‘b***hes’ and ‘h*es’ and using other threatening and abusive language.”
The petition goes on, “Days later, David went on a homophobic Twitter rant where he called gay & [transgender] people an ‘abomonation’ and said that he would teach his children not to associate with gay people or to be gay themselves.”
They accurately pointed out, “This is the same man who called Dr. Drew Pinsky a f**got on TV during a Teen Mom reunion show.”
Then, they called for a change. “This level of ignorance and lack of compassion should not be tolerated. These two need to be reprimanded for their actions. We urge all of you to sign this petition to get them removed from MTV and fired from ‘Teen Mom 2.’”
At the time of publication, the ongoing petition has 6,856 signatures.
Even Chelsea Houska‘s father Randy spoke out about David’s behavior. “[David,] Being an intolerant, homophobic racist is not being ‘radical’. It is being stupid.” He later added, “In the meantime, I suggest you all report [David] to [Twitter] for the racist, homophobic hateful garbage he is posting.”

Many other stars were upset as well. Kailyn Lowry, who is bisexual herself, wrote, ““I’m absolutely disturbed by the comments David made regarding gay & transgender parents. People are removed from shows for comments like that.” Leah Messer retweeted Kailyn’s comment, writing, “They need HELP! Something needs to happen! This is all disturbing to say they least, but not surprising!”
In fact, even Leah’s ex husband Jeremy Calvert seems to want Jenlle and David off the show. “I mean i have a pretty good idea how to fix s**t why don’t everyone ban together and say f**k filming another d*mn thing till they cut [two] people loose from the show..”
Farrah Abraham‘s ex-boyfriend Simon Saran, who is openly conservative, dismissed David as well. “This is not the example we should be setting for our youth,” he wrote. “I have many trustworthy and hardworking individuals that are gay and lesbians. They are outstanding individuals. I’m proud to have them on my team. This is actually embarrassing to see someone say this.”
Farrah herself retweeted, “If they fired @F1abraham they should fire David and Jenelle! Homophobia is not acceptable! #FireJenelle.”
Even 16 and Pregnant stars got involved, like Lindsey Nicholson who wrote, “Disgusting. Who the hell is he to judge?! Some of the nicest people I know are gay. How could someone be married to a guy like that.”
One Reddit user, enolagaye, also pointed out that on top of being unethical, allowing David’s rant to go unchecked is bad optics for MTV.
MTV’s Move

The network has just announced it will be rolling out a new Teen Mom show, “Young and Pregnant,” in March. One of the girls featured in the show, Brianna, has a transgender boyfriend named Danae, making David’s transphobic comments even more real for the network. That’s on top of the fact that David’s Teen Mom 2 co-star Kailyn Lowry is openly bisexual.
“I had forgotten about the trans SO on Young&Pregnant,” wrote user princesscannibutt. “This is a really good point. I really hope it’s another pebble on the side of the scale to get the Eason family off TV.” User Dunkeliness wrote, “I’m praying that they were finally fired.”
