Is Cate alright?
Catelynn Lowell has been fairly open when it comes to her mental health issues. She openly struggled with depression and anxiety, which she shared with the world on MTV’s Teen Mom OG.
Her problems came to a head and she finally realized that she needed to seek help. Since her breakdown, Catelynn has progressively gotten better and even looks healthier. However, she has done something to make fans question if she is spiraling out of control again.
In September 2016, Catelynn revealed that she needed help. It took her a long time to realize that she wasn’t well.
“I decided I needed to get help from talking with [my husband], Tyler, and realizing that I maybe needed something more intense for myself. For some reason, I just had a lightbulb moment where I was like, ‘Maybe I need extra help.'”
Viewers of the show noticed that Catelynn wasn’t exactly herself for some time. She was constantly using pot to help her cope with her emotions.
“I just feel like I need help. ‘Cause I wasn’t really feeling good this morning, and I was having a little bit of anxiety last night. I just broke down and I was like, ‘You know what, I’m not OK … I do need mental help, something’s just not right.'”
She found her low point when she purchased a $3,000 pig to help fill her void. While we are sure her intentions were good, the decision to buy the animal proved to be a disaster.
The new found responsibility of caring for an animal weighed on Catelynn’s emotions. She wasn’t in the mindset that is necessary when it comes to caring for someone or something.
