According to sources that have some information, when David found out that Maryssa’s mother Whitney had skipped town, he filed for emergency custody of her, and the child went to Jenelle and David’s home within a few days. Maryssa’s grandparents could have also filed for emergency custody but did not for reasons that are unknown.
Jenelle Evans’s PR Twitter Page stated, “Maryssa mom has been missing for weeks at a time before.. which lead David to get emergency custody of his daughter immediately.” It seems like Whitney suffers from substance abuse or mental issues that make her want to disappear from her family at times.
