Catelynn and Tyler's "joke" didn't quite land
Offended Women

The offended folks are mostly women who have had trouble conceiving throughout their lives, saying that joking about being pregnant is insensitive to women and couples who are struggling with infertility. The idea that this type of news could be shared so lightly by someone rubbed them the wrong way — and that’s totally fair.
I think we can all agree that announcing a fake pregnancy probably isn’t the most sensitive or well thought out way to express that they want more children.
“Take a Joke!”

For the confused (like me), it’s more just like… Why? It’s just such a strange thing to do, and their behavior towards the fans calling them out on it is seemingly making things worse. Rather than apologizing or acknowledging that it was a beyond strange thing to do, the Baltierras have doubled down on their agreed upon defense: “people can’t take a joke anymore.”
Publicity Stunt?

So all of this leads us to the obvious motivation for the post: attention. I hate saying it, but it feels true. Catelynn and Tyler have recently fallen off the radar somewhat, except for rumors of their crumbling relationship. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to think that they decided to go for the “all publicity is good publicity” approach to get their “failing” marriage out of the headlines and emerge as a united front once again.
If that was their goal, it’s working.
