When you’re a Teen Mom cast member, you can’t expect anything to stay under wraps for very long. So when Amber Portwood moved on from her notorious ex, Matt Baier, it wasn’t long before everyone knew that she had a new bae. That man’s identity was a mystery for a few weeks, but soon it was revealed that she was dating a man named Andrew Glennon, who was much closer in age with her than Matt was.
For a while, though, Amber remained tight-lipped about their relationship, not saying much except for a few tweets combatting haters. Now, she’s spoken out about her relationship with her new man.

Fans first found out that Amber had moved on when a video surfaced of the two of them together. They cozied up with one another and then exchanged a kiss, making it clear that this was, in fact, her new man. Then it was revealed how the two met.
When you’re a reality star, you spend a lot of time with your co-stars, as well as producers and cameramen. Turns out, Amber met Andrew when he was working on her filming for Marriage Boot Camp — that’s right: the season where she was supposed to be working on her relationship with Matt!
“Andrew worked in production on the show, and spent a lot of time with Amber,” an insider told Radar Online. “He worked on all her confessional scenes.” Apparently this time that they spent together turned into something more meaningful. The insider said, “Andrew quickly developed feelings for Amber, and made the first move… Amber says there was no cheating. Her and Matt had already broken up.” As for Matt, he weighed in briefly, telling Radar, “The most important thing is Amber is happy and safe.”
Now, Amber herself is weighing in on her take of the events. She interviewed with Us Weekly and shared her experience. “He didn’t really know who I was and we didn’t talk on the show because, you know, he would get in trouble, and I would have gotten in trouble, but I didn’t even know that he even liked me!” Amber said in the interview. “It just simply was he had a little crush on me.”

It wasn’t until after she moved back to Indianapolis that she heard from Andrew in a romantic capacity. She told Us, “We decided that we wanted to be friends at first because we were just having so much fun talking with each other, and, you know, then when he came out to hang out, we just had even more fun together, so that’s just kind of how it started.”
Andrew weighed in on his take of the events. He told Us, “It was definitely butterflies there, but again, as we started talking, strangely I felt so comfortable, which was amazing. I feel like that’s hard to find.”
Amber continued, “We’re going slow and we’re just trying to be smart about everything, which is good to find somebody on your level like that. I think we just kind of fell into this groove of really enjoying life with each other for a while, so it’s kind of fun and it’s kind of serious in a way as well, but we’re trying not to put too much pressure on a relationship.”
She also addressed something fans had been wondering, considering that the two live across the country from one another. “It’s been good because we can give each other space,” she said in her interview with Us. “It balances everything out especially when you first break up with somebody. You don’t really want to jump right in to another situation, but, you know, some men are worth it, some aren’t. He’s definitely worth my time.”

Fans might not know enough about Andrew to know whether they approve, but they should rest easy knowing that Leah Messer has signed off on the relationship. Amber told Us, “Leah sent me a message, like, pretty much she really likes him. We went out a couple of days ago and got ice cream and went out to dinner and walked around and had some fun.”
“I think she just thinks he’s new and different which is a good thing, but like I said, nothing is forced and we’re not trying to jump that part of my life in, so it was very chill, very relaxing. Leah was very comfortable.”
So that just leaves one question: Will we be seeing Andrew on Teen Mom OG alongsider Amber? Luckily, she addressed this too. She told Us, “Andrew will be on Teen Mom OG! Yes! We’ve only filmed one time. I think the reason why we are where we’re at right now is because we both have kind of let it flow and then it became more serious and then we became committed.”
