In a different type of abuse, Catelynn’s mother was an abuser of drugs and alcohol for a long time. Tyler’s father was in and out of jail repeatedly for drug abuse as well, so both of them have had to overcome tough times.

It’s unclear just how much money the couple makes from MTV for appearing on Teen Mom, but they seem to be doing just fine as they just bought a home for their family in Michigan. Neither Catelynn nor Tyler has a full-time job outside of the show, and (so far) neither of them has pursued higher education, even though they both planned to go to college.

Despite their net worth being listed at only $20K, it has recently come to light that the stars of Teen Mom OG may make around $250K per season, if not more — If that goes for both Tyler and Catelynn, that could be up to $500K per season between them!

Just because they dealt with big decisions at a very early age, doesn’t mean Catelynn and Tyler didn’t get up to some normal (or, perhaps, more serious than normal) teen antics. Unlike some of the other Teen Mom stars, Catelynn and Tyler were able to get back to life as teenagers after Carly’s birth.
The couple has shared that they both got into drug use for a time when they were teenagers. Catelynn even disclosed that Tyler’s drug use was starting to look serious for a time, but she was able to convince him to step away from that lifestyle.
