The Teen Mom cast is all about family. Even though many of the cast members have some rocky histories, nowadays, most of them are focusing on settling down and having children. Now that Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer are officially man and wife, it only seemed a matter of time before they started talking pregnancy. But with Ryan’s addiction issues, fans weren’t sure how long it would be before they would be ready to have a child.
Now, Ryan is speaking out about becoming a father once again, and it’s clear that we’re about to see another Teen Mom baby very soon.

Mackenzie Standifer and Ryan Edwards both have experience when it comes to parenting. Although he may not be the most present, Ryan has experience raising his son, Bentley, with Maci Bookout . Mackenzie herself was also a teenage mother, and she is raising her son, Hudson, from her first marriage. Still, the couple doesn’t have any children together, and Mackenzie has been perfectly clear that it’s something she wants.
Unsurprisingly, Ryan has seemed reluctant to the idea at first. After all, he is still working to stay on top of his sobriety and beat his addiction to drugs once and for all. It seemed that it would potentially be a few years before fans saw a pregnancy announcement from the Edwards family — but now it seems like it’s coming a lot sooner!

Now that Farrah Abraham is officially off of Teen Mom OG, Mackenzie and Ryan Edwards are getting a bit more screen time. In the recent episode of the show, they discussed what’s on the minds of many newlyweds: having children.
Mackenzie revealed to her husband that she’s looking into finishing her education to become a nurse, meaning her priorities may be shifting. Ryan asked, “So does that mean we’re holding off for a while on making a baby?”
“Oh my gosh!” Mackenzie exclaimed, then asked, “Are you ready for it?”
“I’m ready when you’re ready,” Ryan told her. “But I don’t think I’ll ever be totally ready — but I think now’s as good a time as ever.” He joked, “I’ll be ready when he’s about two again… the poopie diapers isn’t really fun for me.”

In a later scene, Mackenzie discussed Ryan’s fathering with her friend. “Now that you are going back to school, what are you going to do kid-wise if you start a family?” her friend asked.
“I think even if I did get pregnant, like, tomorrow, I would still go to school regardless,” she shared.
Her friend seemed apprehensive, considering that would mean Ryan would have to step up as a father. “Do you think Ryan is ready to take on another child?” she asked.
But Mackenzie clearly has no doubts. “Oh my gosh, he’s going to be the best dad… There’s a time when someone is doing so good, and you can see that,” she spilled. “He might not have been the perfect dad [to Bentley] by any means. I’m not saying that. But he’s never been an absent father. As a teen mom, as a mother, that’s all I could ever ask for — is that someone tries for my child.”
