It’s never easy to see one of the family go, especially when they’re in such an important role as Teen Mom’s Maci Bookout. Although it’s still up in the air, Maci has recently been discussing leaving the show after starring on it for the past several years.
That said, timing is everything, and fans can’t help but wonder about how this aligns with Ryan Edwards’s struggles with substance abuse. Check out Maci’s wavering decision.

If you’re not up to date with Ryan Edwards’s recent struggles with substance abuse, you should know that they’re not too pretty.
Maci has broken down on the show about her concerns for him, as his substance abuse escalates. She even expressed concern for the fact that those around him don’t seem eager to get him help, saying, “It’s everyone else around him that is too afraid to admit [that he needs help].”
She was clearly worried that this could be Ryan’s undoing, saying, “I wonder if today’s gonna be the day that Ryan does something that he can’t come back from.”
All Too Much

Is everything all too much for Maci? Apparently, all of the stresses she’s undertaking right now might spell the end of the Teen Mom star’s years-long run on the show.
According to Inquisitr, Maci has been discussing quitting her MTV role. She said, “It is definitely something that we decide, as far as Taylor and I are concerned, season by season.”

It’s hard to get a read on Maci’s words. Even though she said that any season could be her last, she hinted that it was more likely that she would return, unless she was no longer “relatable” to viewers.
She said that she wants to give something viewers can learn from, according to Inquisitr, but also that she hasn’t put the struggles of being a teenage mother behind her.
