It's not always easy being a 'Teen Mom' star. Has this cast member finally had enough? Now her decision about quitting the show has finally been revealed!
By now, the Teen Mom stars have all made it pretty clear that it’s not always easy to be a reality TV star. Of course, the giant paychecks probably make up for it, but there are certain difficulties to being on television that they’ve spoken out about. In fact, recently they’ve been under so much pressure that many of them have considered throwing the towel in.
Now, we’re finally getting an update about the status of a Teen Mom 2 star. Could the cast drop from five to four?

There are a lot of perks that come with being on Teen Mom. In addition to their celebrity status, the cast members have also racked up some pretty serious paychecks over the years. But that doesn’t mean it’s all sunshine and daisies. In fact, in recent years, it seems that nearly all of the Teen Mom stars have threatened to quit at one point or another.
We all know that none of the original Teen Mom cast members have ever actually quit — unless you believe that Farrah wasn’t actually fired, but quit the show. But most recently, it’s Briana DeJesus that was threatening to throw the towel in.
Sometimes, the cast members are pretty huge drama queens, but this time, Briana might have a good reason to threaten to quit the show. After all, things between her and Kailyn Lowry ended up getting pretty physical during the last Teen Mom 2 reunion filming!
According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, the girls didn’t waste any time before getting into an ugly fight. “Briana was the last girl called to the stage, and she came out and went right at Kail,” a source told The Ashley. “Briana’s sister Brittany DeJesus was on set too and she jumped in and got in Kail’s face. They started swinging at each other and Kail was motioning to Bri to ‘Bring it on!’”
Another source revealed, “There had been a lot of back-and-forth instigation on both ends before the girls got on the stage. That’s why Bri came out ready to fight.”
“Everyone else that was on stage scattered to get out of the way,” a source said. “Even Dr. Drew ran out of there.”
Unsurprisingly, not everyone was happy about the drama. “Chelsea [Houska] was super upset by it all,” a source informed The Ashley. “She’s pregnant and was worried that she would get caught up in a fight, and that’s exactly what happened.”
The Ashley soon updated with even more information on the brawl. The outlet reports that the stage brawl took place after Kailyn tried to confront Briana backstage while there were no cameras around. A source revealed, “Bri acting like Kail was dumb for wanting to fight.”
When security heard what was going on, they managed to cool things down between the girls. Then the cast returned for an “Unseen Moments” special filming.
“Everyone was sitting on the stage and for some reason they put Brittany behind Kail on the couches,” a source revealed. “They didn’t have any security posted by Brittany. As soon as Briana came out, ready to fight, Brittany stood up and joined in. Kail turned around to get off stage and that’s when Brittany yanked Kail’s hair.”
Not everyone was game to stay after things got ugly. The Ashley reveals that Jo Rivera ditched the scene after everything escalated. “He said he was done with this crap and isn’t filming the Reunion [the following day],” a source revealed.
However, some of the baby daddies were thrilled to hear about the drama. “I’M SO GLAD KAIL GOT HER A** BEAT!” Jenelle Evans’ baby daddy and husband, David Eason, shared in a Facebook post. “That’s what she gets for saying she would hit my wife! And why is Randy there calling tabloids?”
But Kailyn soon set the record straight. She tweeted, “I didn’t get beat up. I didn’t get hit. Reeeeeeeeeelax.” All of The Ashley’s sources have confirmed that no punches were thrown during the filming.
There are endless sides to this story, but Kailyn spoke out with her own version of the events in an interview with E! News.
“Brittany ran up behind me and pulled my hair,” Kailyn explained. “That was it.”
She did confirm that she attempted to confront Briana away from cameras at the beginning of the feud. “I confronted [Briana] alone and she wouldn’t get up. I just wanted to hash it out. But she didn’t want to,” Kailyn explained. “We went into a private room without cameras and I told her to get up. She wouldn't’ get up. That was that.”
Briana also tweeted about the event. When a fan asked if she was okay, she simply responded, “Yes baby I am. I fell on stage but that’s ok.”
But soon, she shared her own side of the story.
“I got to the studio,” she told HollywoodLife.com. “I get a text and it’s Kail saying she wants to talk. So Production told me that she wants to squash the beef since we are on the same show. So I said ok. Kail didn’t want our ‘convo’ filmed so Production stood in the hallway.”
She went on to say, “When Kail walks in, she looked like she wanted to fight, so I’m like omg here we go. There’s 3 guards inside with us just in case so Kail starts elling saying let me just hit her one time. She knew she wouldn’t be able to touch me because all the guards were holding her back, so whatever. That ended and I was like wait til I see you again.”
She revealed that producers asked her to film a segment, but when she walked out onstage, “The only person I saw was Kail sitting down so I just ran up. Guards got to me. I slipped and fell trying to get over the table to get to Kail and then my sister got into it.”
She added, “I do know that my sister tried to stop me at first when I ran out on the stage, but then Kail started to talk sh*t to Brittany, so Brittany got upset. I don’t want anyone to think we tried to jump her, cause we didn’t.” But security got involved before she could see what else happened. “IDK what else happened/what my sister did, cause I didn’t get to see cause I got tackled by security.”
Apparently, Briana was very upset. After this all went down, Briana walked off stage and refused to film anything else. She got the next flight home that weekend and told Production she quit the show. She didn’t show up Sunday to film the reunion and has been back home in Florida since Sunday,” a source revealed to HollywoodLife.com.
It wasn’t long before Briana confirmed that she quit the show!
She took to Instagram live to discuss the going-ons with her fans. Even though she didn’t spend much time talking about it, she confirmed the rumor.
“‘Did you really leave Teen Mom 2?’” Briana said in the update, quoting a fan’s question. She responded, “Yes I did. I’m done!”
Some fans were not surprised by Briana’s decision. “She’s in the best position to walk away,” wrote reddit user StasRutt. “MTV was paying her peanuts and she has a job and a sustainable lifestyle without mtv. She’s got enough insta followers to do some insta ads if she wants to.” User EightyHM agreed, “If she's serious and actually follows through with it then it'll be the one decision I actually support Brianna making.”
But others, like user mayor_of_the_LAND, weren’t buying it. “This is typical Briana. I don't think she's really leaving. She's infamous for her ‘tweet and deletes’ because she constantly goes back on what she says, so I think this is gonna be like that. Also, she [wants] people to say ‘no, please don't leave’ or ‘you're my favorite on the show’ blah blah, all for attention.” User boobopbadaboop theorized, “I strongly believe she is doing this to get MTV to pay her more,” adding, “News flash Brianna... We never wanted you. MTV forced you on us. So I think youre in for a rude awakening once they see that no one really cares about you leaving.”
But some fans believe that Briana may actually have been fired from the show for getting violent with Kailyn. User FeelingsHaveDropped wrote, “My theory is that she [is] done but not 100% willingly. I’ve always thought that since the amber/Farrah debacle they’ve had a no physical fight rule. Which is why Brittany was full of apologies to Larry talking about respect, she wouldn’t do that, and don’t fire us last episode. But obviously things got physical in NY soooo.”
User gatorinmypocket agreed, “This is so interesting to me because I think they brought her on the show for drama, but now I think they're getting a lot of backlash for letting things go too far. I'll readily admit that I watch for the drama but at this point I think even the producers might realize they're in over their heads - not just all the sh*t they have to deal with (FARRAH) but possibly even liability issues."
They added, "I know they produce to rake in the cash, but if they have to start paying out for possible lawsuits that might make them think twice. But admittedly I don't know what kind of contracts the Moms sign.”
Since then, we haven’t had any updates out of Briana’s neck of the woods — until now. On her Snapchat story, she shared an image of a giant camera rig, seemingly confirming that she hasn’t quit the show!
“I think we all know she was never going to quit!! That Mtv cash and notoriety is worth it in her eyes. She even had a baby to get back on the show. I’m actually surprised she didn’t have Javi’s baby tbh,” wrote Marianne0819. User mooncurls31 theorized, “She didn't want to quit. She just wanted a raise. Can't hate her for playing her cards right.” User -yassssss- wrote, “I am 0% surprised. I think MTV offered her a decent salary so she is staying on.”
Don’t look, Bri — apparently, many fans were actually disappointed that she didn’t quit! “Oh god d*mn it :(“ wrote castlesandcrumpets. “Can't we just have a filler segment full of bloopers or something instead? Or following around pets? More burp montages? Just f*cking dead air? Anything but more Briana. It's such a pain in the d*ck to have to fast forward like 1/5 of the episode.” User LondonHalflife wrote, “What a disappointment.”
Briana isn’t the only one who was on the fence about coming back next season. Leah Messer’s baby daddy and ex-husband Jeremy Calvert has just confirmed he won’t be returning for the next season! As for the rest of the cast, many of them signed on after negotiations — except for one.
“MTV isn’t about to to get rid of the show, especially now with shows like Jersey Shore Family Vacation doing so well,” a source from behind-the-scenes informed The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.
“Briana got a big pay increase because it is her second season,” a source revealed. “There was no way she was turning that down.”
Other girls had more demands, though, including Leah Messer.
“One of the things Leah wanted was for MTV to pay for a professional makeup artist to do her makeup before she filmed,” the source revealed. “MTV told her no way!”
But Jenelle Evans has demands so big that it’s locked her into a stalemate against MTV.
“Jenelle is only negotiating through her lawyer. Some of the executive producers have been on the phone [with the lawyer] for the last few days, trying to negotiate,” the source said. “She was not budging and MTV was not budging.”
Apparently, MTV refuses to give in to MTV’s demands.
“Basically, Jenelle wants David included in filming, and if that’s not possible, she wants him to be allowed to be around while she’s filming,” the source said. “She doesn’t care if he isn’t shown on-camera or paid. She told [the producer] that if she is filming at their home, she is not going to make David leave.” They added, “She also wants him to be able to attend Reunions and other filming events with her–even if he doesn’t go on camera– and for MTV to pay for his travel.”
According to the insider, offering Jenelle more money to sign isn’t an option. “They can’t offer Jenelle more money to sign because all the girls– except Briana, who was not originally part of the cast–have to make the same amount,” another source revealed. “If they give Jenelle more money, they have to give the other three girls more money. They do give out different bonus deals to the girls, though.”
It’s clear that Jenelle doesn’t want to film without David, but many fans won’t be so heartbroken to see him go. After all, he was fired after many fans demanded it!
Jenelle isn’t trying to keep her feud with MTV a secret, either: she’s been openly discussing the situation with fans. “Omg if [you’re] not on the next season of teen mom, I won’t watch it,” one Twitter fan wrote. Jenelle responded, “We will see! So far not looking pretty.” The fan wrote, “Noooooo. Then you need your own show.” Jenelle replied, “We will see. I have ideas.”
Fans were less than impressed with Jenelle’s threats, though. “Jeez all of these girls are all talk,” wrote reddit user BrookeKMills. “I would love for one of them to straight up surprise us all, not tweet about it and just leave the show.” User constantreader55 wrote, “There's no way she won't sign up. They need that income.”
“She’s (with David’s help) just trying to prove she is good for business bc she’s the one everybody loves to hate. She’s looking for more money, plain and simple,” theorized user SoRatchet. They added, “All she’s doing is bringing up old stuff that enrages the masses though. Give me new controversies, new drama, and maybe I’d sign on to the bump in pay. As it is, she’s already said her children won’t be filmed anymore, and luckily the extra tall leprechaun won’t grace our screens, so there’s no incentive for a raise imho.” User Blaze_90 chimed in, “This just proves how much control David has over her. She'd rather turn down all that money than go against her husband's demands. Well, if she does quit....good riddance, Jenelle!”
In the meantime, Jenelle has much more important things on her plate. After an upsetting video surfaced, Jenelle may be at risk of losing custody of her son Kaiser!
