Not guilty!
There are many members of the Teen Mom cast who are a little too familiar with the inside of a jail cell. Everyone makes mistakes, but some members of the cast seem to land behind bars a bit more often than your everyday person. There’s one cast member in particular who seems to be skewing the average, with arrest after arrest piling up.
Now, they’re speaking out about the jail stint they recently served after perpetrating a hit-and-run car accident.
Repeat Offender
When Nathan Griffith first graced the scene in Jenelle Evans’s life, he seemed like the perfect guy. Even Jenelle’s mother Barbara was enamored by him and his politeness! Needless to say, times have changed a great deal since then.
Jenelle and Nathan had one child, Kaiser, together before calling off their engagement. Since then, they’ve both moved on to have their own scandals, but Nathan always seems to run on the wrong side of the law. This time, Nathan was arrested for a hit-and-run car accident.
Busted!
“[Nathan Griffith] hit fixtures and left the scene,” a spokesperson for the police department informed Radar Online. “He didn’t wait for officers and kept driving.”
Apparently Nathan’s great escape didn’t go so well, as police officers later arrested him for the crime and issued him a ticket. Radar reports that he was later released on a $464 bond.
Even David Eason weighed in on this news! “It doesn’t surprise me at all,” David told E! News. “It’s sad that Kaiser was there this weekend and a witness to all of this. Hopefully, Nathan doesn’t continue to make the same mistakes and set a better example for his son.” Of course, this doesn’t mean much to fans, given David’s own criminal history and recent firing from MTV.
Total Accident!
Now, Nathan is speaking out about the incident. Well, actually, his girlfriend Ashley Lanhardt is! She’s claiming that her man was “falsely” arrested.
“Nathan ran out to get an energy drink alone,” she told Radar. “He was arrested for pulling away from a gas pump with the pump still in his truck’s tank.”
Ashley claims that this comes as a result of Nathan’s Traumatic Brain Injury that he got from his time in the military. “No charges were pressed from the gas station clerk,” she said. “It was an accident.”
No More Kaiser
Ashley also spoke out about Jenelle’s choice to pull her and Nathan’s son, Kaiser, from the show. “If she thinks that is what’s best for her children then I support that,” Ashley said. “But if she’s doing it out of spite because they fired her husband, then that I don’t agree with that.”
She also pointed out that the show would benefit Kaiser. She told Radar that the children are paid “very well,” and that she thinks Kaiser staying on the show would “set him up for a successful future.”
Some fans believe this may even be Jenelle’s last season of the show! “So, no David, Kaiser, Ensley, and Jenelle refuses to film with Barb?!” pointed out reddit user D4mn_1t. “What would we even watch her do? Just fire her a** at this point.” User abradolph theorized, “I kinda think that’s what is going down but she’s trying to twist the narrative to her ‘quitting to protect her kids’ before the actual news breaks.”
