Their past is coming out!
It’s not uncommon for people struggling with difficult life events to turn to substances in order to feel better. While self-medicating is far from advisable, it’s something we’ve seen many of the Teen Mom cast members and their baby daddies turn to when things get hard. Unfortunately, for many of them this self-medication has been the beginning of a long path of addiction and legal problems. Some of them are still battling these demons.
It’s easy for fans to think that they know everything about the Teen Mom cast members. We’ve watched them learn, change, and grow for nearly a decade, after all. But the truth is, many of them are still keeping some major secrets from fans and viewers.
Even though this Teen Mom star may seem one way on the surface, they’re apparently much more complicated than they seem. This includes a history of legal troubles due to their shocking use of meth.

From the very beginning of Teen Mom, many of the cast members have been open with cameras about their drug use. However, at the beginning, the only drug they were using was weed… at least on camera. As the years went on, the stars and their baby daddies soon began abusing prescription pills and even using harder drugs like heroin. Viewers have gotten to see just how devastating drug addiction can be through the eyes of the Teen Mom cast and their loved ones. In fact, addiction to hard drugs is something that the cast are still dealing with to this day.
But fans may not have known until recently that one star has a history of meth use.
MTV recently added several new cast members to the Teen Mom family when they introduced their newest show, Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. The show follows all new cast members in their teens and early twenties as they struggle with their baby daddies, their parents, and their new little ones.
Many of the new cast members have become instant fan favorites, while others are clearly going to become notorious over the years. But as their fame grows, more dark secrets of their past are surfacing as well. For Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant star Ashley Jones’ baby daddy Bar Smith, recent updates are not painting him in a good light.
According to an update by Radar Online, Bar Smith has a past arrest for possession of meth and other alarming charges.
Bar was charged with possession of meth on Dec. 7, 2015, the outlet reports. He was also charged with giving false information to the police when he “did falsely represent and identify himself/herself as another person and as a fictitious person to a police officer, upon a lawful detention and arrest, in order to evade the process of the court and evade proper identification,” Radar reports. They revealed that Bar was also charged with trespassing with intent to interfere, as he “entered lands for the purpose of injuring property and property rights with the intention of interfering with, obstruction, and injuring the lawful business and occupation carried on by the owner of such land.”
For the charges, Bar pled no contest and served five days in jail.
He was also ordered to stay 100 yards from the Children’s Hospital in Oakland, as that is where officials believed he trespassed. He was placed on three year probation after a deferred entry of judgement was granted.
This isn’t the only shocking news of a Teen Mom star being busted with meth. In fact, Jenelle Evans’ ex boyfriend Kieffer Delp was recently arrested for running a meth lab!
Unfortunately for Jenelle, the man she fell head over heels for is also the one who introduced her to heroin. In her memoir, Read Between The Lines: Diary of a Teenage Mom, Jenelle recalled using a lot of drugs during her relationship with Kieffer.
“I did a lot of heroin and weed,” she wrote in the memoir. “That was all I did. Just smoked and shot up and laid around chillin.”
Only around a week into this drug-heavy lifestyle, Jenelle woke up on the bathroom floor only to discover she had overdosed on heroin.
“I had no idea how long I was out or what I did during the time,” she wrote. “It was scary, not knowing. I asked Kieffer why I was lying on the f*cking floor. Kieffer sid I passed out.”
Jenelle demanded why Kieffer didn’t take her to the hospital if he knew that she had passed out while on heroin. But all Kieffer had to say was “Sometimes that happens.”
“He meant that it was just a thing that happens on heroin,” Jenelle wrote in her memoir. “Sometimes you just blackout. Sometimes you lie around on the bathroom floor while your boyfriend enjoys his high… Sometimes you go down and you don’t get back up.”
This incident was a huge wakeup call for Jenelle, who soon checked into a hospital for detox. Jenelle has since cleaned up, but Kieffer didn’t follow in her footsteps. According to a local news source the Post-Gazette, Kieffer was arrested after police discovered that he was operating a meth lab in January 2018.
“Police received multiple complaints about a possible meth lab in the basement apartment and had been investigating it for a few weeks,” according to the outlet. “Upon conducting a search warrant, they found items and chemicals to substantiate the claim.”
Apparently, Kieffer was running this all by himself. “Mr. Delp is believed to have operated the meth lab on his own,” the Post-Gazette reports. “There are no other suspects at this time.”
According to the outlet, Kieffer’s bail was set at $50,000, which he was unable to produce. He is currently being held in Allegheny County Jail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place on Jan. 23. The Post-Gazette reports that Kieffer “faces felony charges related to the manufacturing and distribution of methamphetamines and the improper disposal of chemicals.”
