Although it’s true that many fans offered an outpouring of love and support for Cheyenne and Ryder, some criticized Cheyenne’s decision to post this publicly!
“Please stop posting pictures of your childs most vulnerable moments. Thank you,” wrote user GuybrushsThreepwood on reddit. User WineNotReality agreed, “In general, public posts taking photos of sick kids when they are at the most vulnerable and posting on social seem invasive of the child and so needy on the parent’s part.” User Amateurcellist92 even penned:
“I’m a children’s doctor and I’m seeing more and more parents post photos of their children as long as they have an IV line or nasal cannula O2. I don’t get it but it’s happening quite a lot.
Recently, I was at a difficult delivery and I was literally resuscitating a newborn who was trying to die, yet all the mother cared about was that the sister was getting that first picture and asking for the baby’s weight. She was thrusting her phone with the camera on in the baby’s face (who had an O2 mask on and was flat and not breathing).
🤷♀️
But others defended Cheyenne. User BatMom525 wrote, “Really don’t like how many people are going in on Cheyenne about this. Her daughter is under the care of professionals and resting. I’d be a mess looking for a bit of positive feedback too.” User Fox-mom agreed, “I understand her posting. When my child was younger they spent months in the hospital and the medical issues were quite extensive. I was alone and scared and wanting to feel some sort of connection to anyone who could help me keep my sanity, so I posted frequently about their journey. “
