Poor thing!
Leah Messer has been through a lot over the years— and she’s only 25! She already has three children, two baby daddies, and two divorces under her belt. She’s battled depression, spent time in rehab, and has worked hard to raise a special needs daughter. Even though she’s had some serious lows, she’s proven over the years that she can come out on top of any difficulty.
Now, Leah is facing yet another hardship. She’s reaching out to fans for support through this family tragedy.

Over the years on Teen Mom, fans have seen all of the stars struggle to stay strong through family tragedies. Now, Leah Messer is reaching out for support in a very personal hardship.
“Say a prayer for my family!” she wrote on Twitter. “I didn’t sleep at all last [night]. We had to take Champ to the vet yesterday and he stayed overnight for surgery,” she explained, referring to her adorable boxer.

“We’re picking him back up today,” she went on. “Needless to say, yesterday was a sad day for us. We’re just so happy that he’s okay!”
Fans were quick to show support, and Leah shared more details about the situation. “I let him out to potty and literally within a matter of 5-10 minutes a coyote just attacked him outside of my house. It was traumatizing! I’ll never let him run off his walking leash again. Ever.”
She shared, “We actually get to go pick him up right now. I think I’m going to cry.”

But luckily, Leah has been doing her research. “I was up all night looking up things on the internet,” she shared. “I did see that a fence was an option. However, it said that coyotes could jump the fence too. So maybe a really really large fence. A lot of my property is wooded.” After getting input from fans, she wrote, “THANKSS SO MUCH EVERYONE!”
Fans were quick to reach out about Leah’s scary experience. “Aw that’s so sad,” wrote reddit user shootingforthemoon. “We have coyotes and an unfenced yard, so [my dogs] only go out on runners and I have to stay out with them. It sucks because they love to play outside and I can’t just leave them out there, but they’re babies that could never defend themselves against coyotes.”
