Ryan Edwards Says He’s Been Sober Since Jail

Ryan Edwards has struggled with addiction for some time now, but appears to be sober as of now. A big question on Teen Mom fans minds is how long he will remain clean, and if there is more legal trouble in the cards for him.

Ryan was released from prison at the end of April, and he and Mackenzie Edwards made their return to Teen Mom screens.

Maci Bookout’s ex apparently ran their bank accounts dry, according to Radar Online. A source told the outlet that “they went through all their money,” and is “the only reason they continue to film.”

Apparently, Mackenzie had been working for her father’s insurance company, and the couple has been living with Ryan’s parents rent free. They announced they would be leaving the series last year because they didn’t want to focus their storyline on Ryan’s addiction recovery.

Last October, Mackenzie gave birth to their son Jagger Ryan Edwards. Ryan was not present for the birth of his first child with Mackenzie because he was back in rehab.

Because of Ryan’s repeated offenses with drugs, it was not a shock when Radar Online reported that the 30-year-old had re-entered treatment. According to Radar, Ryan was supposed to stay at the rehab facility until early 2019.

The family wasn’t very confident Ryan would remain sober, but he might be proving them all wrong!

Ryan opened up about his journey on the Teen Mom OG reunion episode.

A source revealed to Radar Online that he has been “doing a lot better” since his release.

“Jail scared him straight,” they told the outlet.

According to the same source, Mackenzie’s recent pregnancy as motivated him to stay sober. The pair is expecting a baby girl in January.

“Finding out she was pregnant again put a pep in his step on the dad part,” the source revealed.
