Fans have waited months to find out how MTV will continue Teen Mom OG after Farrah's dramatic departure. After rumors of different candidates, producers have announced the newest Teen Mom and everyone is shocked who it is!
Though Farrah Abraham was famous for her constant drama on Teen Mom, her replacement is making waves before she even arrives on set!
Rumors have been flying over who would take the fourth spot since Farrah was fired from the show. MTV has finally announced the newest “Teen Mom” and it’s hard to say who is angrier: fans or the moms themselves!
As Teen Mom Talk Now previously reported, Farrah was fired from Teen Mom 2 last fall in an explosion of controversy.
Thousands of Farrah’s adult fans tuned in for Farrah’s live show on the adult streaming site CamSoda. For weeks, she promoted her scheduled return to the adult entertainment industry and teased fans by announcing new “back door” action. But when viewers logged on to watch Farrah get off, they instead watched her announce that she was recently fired from the cast of Teen Mom OG.
She opened up about the news on an Instagram Live broadcast just prior to the show. After advertising the toys and lingerie she’d be using, she said, “I had a super horrible day. MTV fired me…because my press for my own brand outshines their press. And also, they were s*x shaming me about doing this cam show today.”
Farrah later continued in a lengthy Instagram rant.
"Even though #Viacom fired me today they couldn’t help but to exploit myself & my daughter for their promotional gain- Viacom let me go because as a Business Mogul I act like an adult and part take in adult promotions and activities that other adults do for FREE or in private ! Even though I have successfully been to gentlemen’s clubs appearances they filmed and Viacom filmed me at the AVN’s & Viacom shows and glorifies showing couples having s*x on their network but as stated today ‘my brands press out shines the Teen mom Viacom press’- Sad such a phenomenal show will no longer have its biggest talent on the show because of women hating, s*x shaming, hate crimes, selfish, Weinstein company power trip behaviors against a professional hard working, honest mother…"
Farrah continued,
"I’m proud of myself not giving in to be s*x shamed by Viacom network, Proud to not have a network take away financial opportunities for my goals, proud to be an Advocate for a healthy s*x life, safe s*x, teen pregnancy prevention and so much more while I run companies in different feilds and scale them. Cheers to basically winning against hurtful disgusting executives who do way more in their personal lives then what I could ever be judged for-I will never be broken by hateful wrong people and if everyone else is brained washed, on drugs, pills, scheming thinking their at the top of their power trips I WISH to always be apart- I give this chapter of my life to GOD & all of his glory & to justice in court…"
She ended the post by saying,
"If God’s for you who dare be against you. I look forward to writing my first business book and sharing all of these life changing experiences in detail , from scheming producers & executives to jealous celebrities ,what to do to over come , not be shattered & stay true to the free world we live in ! #USA #AMERICA Get out there a keep being you! Your much better then all the politics & the people at the top who could never be at the top if it wasn’t for you! #godisgood."
While Farrah immediately began to spin her side of the story after she was fired, MTV waited until January to release footage of the incident that caused them to finally sever ties with the outspoken star.
As Teen Mom Talk Now previously reported, in an episode of Teen Mom OG , Farrah blasts a producer as she sits in a car, “I know I don’t like you, and I know I don’t even want to f**king look at you. F**k you and your excuses.”
“Please tell me how I’m getting in your way so I can help,” the producer asks, but Farrah rolls up the window and says, “You already know.”
After this blow-up, a typical example of Farrah’s drama, the scene cuts to a tense conversation between Farrah and executive producer Morgan J. Freeman. “I think we want to look at just how people are treated,” Morgan tells Farrah. Morgan then asks her, “Do you feel like you respect the people that are around you that are trying to make the show and spend all this time?”
Showing off the attitude that made her infamous, Farrah responds, “I respect a lot of people who respect me.”
Producer Morgan Freeman seems done with Farrah’s nonsense for once and for all. “Right,” Morgan shoots back, “but you do have very little empathy or compassion for other people.” He goes on, “There has to be respect for our crews and for the producers… and the amount of work that goes into keeping you happy with crew has bubbled up to a point that we have to figure out if we move forward.”
One issue that was affecting the crew? Farrah refused to let crew members use the restroom in her home, and then insisted on removing porta-potties that MTV provided them on-site. Furthermore, she banned the crew members from wearing shoes inside, which might sound reasonable if Farrah did not bring her miniature horse into her foyer!
Farrah was unsympathetic to Morgan’s concerns. “If that’s overwhelming for you, I’m sure there’s a better way of handling it,” she says, sounding sarcastic.
“Out of nine moms, you’re the only one that’s the problem,” Morgan says.
“I’m not difficult!” Farrah insists. “I am so understanding, I work my a** off just like everyone.”
That’s where the clip ends. In the context of her abusive tirades, MTV’s decision to fire Farrah became clearer to everyone. So how do producers plan on replacing their most outspoken OG mom? Everyone has had an opinion about who should take the fourth spot on Teen Mom OG .
There was heavy speculation that it would be Mackenzie McKee of Teen Mom 3.
After the less popular Teen Mom 3 was cancelled after one season, some fans thought MTV should switch Mackenzie over to the OG cast. After all, producers had already taken a TM3 alum, Briana DeJesus, and given her a spot on Teen Mom 2 .
When Mackenzie posted a snapchat in her living room that featured Teen Mom producer Morgan J. Freeman, it only added fuel to the fire. Reddit user BellaMizer posted, “I hope she replaces Farrah,” while moolissy added, “That would be amazing.” Despite her fans, Mackenzie was not selected to be on the show and the spot looked available for another familiar face.
Before the new cast member was announced, there was a popular online belief that it would be Mackenzie Standifer, Ryan Edwards’ new wife.
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup quoted a source in February who said
"They are planning to pay her around $3,000 an episode to take the fourth spot on ‘Teen Mom OG.’ That would obviously be significantly less than the other girls make. It is not a done deal yet, but the consensus is that Mackenzie Edwards will get the spot. Recently, they’ve been filming her life with Ryan for Maci [Bookout]‘s segment almost more than Maci’s life. Plus, she was a teenage mother so it kind of makes sense."
Mackenzie has a preschool-aged son from a previous relationship. However, despite the rumors, producers eventually chose not to move forward with this Mackenzie either!
As Teen Mom Talk Now previously reported, fans were outraged to learn who the newest cast member would be. Not only are fans in a furor, but the teen moms are not happy either.
No matter who producers chose to join the cast, they long ago expressed their hesitation to welcome a replacement onto the show. In March, Catelynn Lowell said on Kailyn Lowry’s podcast, “They can’t [bring in another girl to our show] because we’re the OG’s, the original girls. If you do that, it won’t be the original girls anymore.”
Despite the backlash from the girls and from the fans, MTV recently announced Farrah’s replacement and nobody could have guessed who it would be!
Cheyenne Floyd, former star of MTV reality shows Are You The One? and The Challenge, will be replacing Farrah on Teen Mom OG. Cheyenne is the mother of 4-year-old Ryder.
As you would expect from this crew, the girls have a lot to say about their new co-star. According to Radar Online, a source said Amber Portwood is “pissed off about the new cast member” and doesn’t “like the idea of someone who is a total newbie and has never even been on the show before coming on permanently.”
Why does MTV's pick have Amber so upset?
Amber gave birth to her second child in May, so maybe she’s worried about sharing screen time after her big news! But based on their history, Amber should be thrilled to have a new mom replace Farrah.
In January, Farrah accused Amber of faking her pregnancy in a Twitter rant that read, “AMBER just f**king admit you planned your pregnancy lmao this is so pathetic.” Farrah appeared to confirm a longtime public rumor that the stars receive a “baby bonus” when she continued, “F**K TEEN MOM ! Enjoy the bonus for your new kid and pay your owed child support!”
Though Farrah is famous for outbursts like that one, will the new cast member bring the same drama?
The Are You the One? Season 3 veteran announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post in October 2016. Her pregnancy and the birth of baby Ryder was a quiet affair, especially by Teen Mom standards. It almost seemed like Cheyenne shies away from the spotlight. Almost.
Cheyenne was initially unwilling to share the details of her baby’s father, but she came under the microscope last December when it was revealed that her baby daddy was a former co-star. She worked with Cory Wharton on the set of The Challenge: Rivals III.
Cory confirmed his involvement by sharing a photo of the pair with their daughter captioned:
"I’ve been off of social media for a while now... for many reasons. Most importantly God has given me the biggest blessing in my life, my daughter Ryder K Wharton. I want to say thank you Cheyenne for being such an amazing mother. I look forward to co-parenting with you and giving Ryder all the love in the world. I can’t wait to watch you grow up and be there for you every step of the way, love you Moochie !!!"
Since his initial post, he’s shared countless snaps of his daughter on his social media, many even featuring Cheyenne! Although the couple is no longer romantically linked, they supposedly are amicable co-parents. Though they seem more peaceful than the typical couple that we see on Teen Mom, the pair has an unfair advantage.
Cheyenne gave birth to her first child, Ryder, at age 24. Fans are outraged that the newest cast member of Teen Mom 2 isn’t even a teen mom!
Reddit user alara7 called MTV’s casting decision “a terrible choice.” She added:
"She does not posses the most fundamental criteria of being on teen mom. As she is 25 we have missed out on a large chunk of her life and development so can not invest in her story as much as someone who is 16, She has been on several reality shows. So is already famous and has money. We won’t get to witness the financial struggle. We won’t get to see her before fame. These are all areas which allow us to bond with the moms."
Many fans agreed that Cheyenne was a poor choice for the open slot. GlitzAndGrit echoed the sentiment, writing “I’m not liking this decision. Not only is she not from the 16&P/TM shows, she was boring on MTV’s Challenge (never watched Are You The One so can’t speak to that), and she’s not even a teen mom.”
The fans seemed upset to have to meet and grow attached to a whole new mom. User chrissycakes8726 agreed, “WTH! What happened with Mackenzie McKee??? This is bullsh*t! This girl isn’t a part of this franchise in any way shape or form. She also had her first kid at 24…that’s not even close to a teen Mom.”
Though her “advanced” age has been unsettling to longtime fans of the franchise, the biggest controversy surrounding Cheyenne dates back to her teen years!

In tweets that have since been deleted , Cheyenne revealed thoughts that Reddit user Blaze_90 called “incredibly racist.”
In one tweet, she shares, “My mom said I can’t see The Help, she knows I already have a problem with white people,” referring to the 2011 blockbuster featuring Viola Davis and Emma Stone, among other stars. “Last night I saw it and I wanted to kill every white person I saw,” Cheyenne continued before adding three “gun” emojis.
In a later tweet, Cheyenne said, “This little white kid told me I looked like a cat today. I shoulda kicked him in his head.” Fans were outraged to learn that MTV’s newest choice for a show about motherhood had threatened physical violence against a child!
The girls haven’t commented on the drama surrounding the tweets, but they do question why an outsider is joining the franchise at this point after they’ve starred on the show for years. A source told Radar Online that Catelynn and her husband Tyler Baltierra think “it’s stupid that they’re bringing people from outside the franchise instead of bringing the OGs and the TM2 cast together.”
The moms are quick to give their thoughts on their castmates, but Reddit user darialalalalala wondered, “Why does the cast care? They film their segments separately and meet a few times a year for reunions and specials.”
However, the girls might really just be concerned about their own bank accounts! Tyler, in particular, “doesn’t think the show is going to last very much longer unless the new cast member brings in amazing ratings.”
He isn’t the only one pessimistic about the show’s future.
Farrah, the epicenter of this drama, told Radar Online that “the show was done” when she left. She offered no thoughts on her replacement.
The only person to express excitement for the new cast members is Javi Marroquin. “Cory is my guy, so I’m glad he’s onboard,” Javi said, according to Radar Online. He called the show a “good decision for his family.”
His family will soon find out if the spotlight was a good decision. Since MTV’s announcement, rumors have begun flying that their life together is not as calm and happy as it appears on social media.
Those rumors will have to be true if Cheyenne is going to truly fill Farrah’s shoes! A source told The Ashleys Reality Roundup that Cheyenne and Cory were aware that they were in the running for the position, so they have been showing off their amicable relationship as co-parents. However, the source continued, “Their co-parenting relationship is nowhere near as happy as they try to make it out to be on social media” and assured The Ashleys that “They will fit in perfectly on ‘Teen Mom.’” Let’s hope that that’s the truth because it appears that the process is already underway. A source revealed that MTV has already sent film crews to Los Angeles to begin filming next week.
