Will they be out of class?
In many ways, being a parent can be the scariest thing on earth. For many parents, it’s hard not to spend a lot of time worrying about the safety of your children. Even though being on Teen Mom has given the cast members financial stability, sometimes that’s not enough to feel safe.
With the world shifting in drastic and alarming ways, it’s clear it’s taken a toll on the Teen Mom cast as well. Now, Kailyn is sharing how much it’s shaken her, and how she might be changing her life as a result.
The recent school shooting at a high school in Florida has affected many Americans sense of security. It’s alarming for many to think that they may send off their children to school like any other day only to find out that something unfathomable has happened. Needless to say, schools are meant to be a safe place for children to be, and with the cultural landscape changing, more and more parents are feeling less comfortable sending their children to school. Among these parents is Kailyn Lowry herself.
“Feeling like i should pull my kids from public school and do homeschool groups at this point,” Kailyn tweeted after news broke about the shooting. It seems she’s so shaken that she’s considering taken her children’s schooling into her own hands. She went on to explain her reasoning to fans in the replies.
“Don’t give up on public schools,” write Twitter user @FaraSarrey. “As a public school teacher I bust my butt making sure kids are safe, happy and healthy and learning.” Kailyn responded, “That’s great to hear. However, along with the gun issue, a lot of school administrations lack in school security and procedure.”
Kailyn has made her stance on the incident clear via her Twitter. The day after the shooting, she retweeted, “We need to focus more on addressing mental health issues and stricter gun control regulations. What happened in Florida is disturbing and my heart goes out to the victims.” She later retweeted, “hey guys…. maybe mental illness AND guns are both a problem…. maybe we are all right…. u know…”
If Kailyn does decide to pull Isaac, Lincoln, and Lux out of school, she would need to clear it with their baby daddies first, which could take some time. That said, Kailyn is lucky enough to make her own hours, which means if she was dedicated to homeschooling, she could certainly swing it. In fact, she’s recently revealed that she’s had enough time to write another book as a letter to her three sons!
