Bad Blood!
If you know anything about Jenelle Evans, you know that her relationship with her mother, Barbara “Babs” Evans isn’t exactly ideal. It’s hard not to have a strained relationship with your mother when you go through what Jenelle has gone through, including drug addiction, a miscarriage, and a string of unhealthy and abusive relationships.
Jenelle and Babs might not even communicate at all if it weren’t for their shared custody of Jace, which Jenelle has only recently been granted more of. Babs still has more rights, and she’s not afraid to rub it in Jenelle’s face. Of course, Jenelle won’t take it lying down.

Fighting for Jace

Jenelle had her eight-year-old son, Jace, while she was on 16 and Pregnant. She’s come a long way since then, but because her circumstances were so different when Jace was born, her mother Barbara got custody of him.
Recently, Jenelle tried to fight for custody of Jace, wanting to regain full custody of her son. After a long and difficult battle, Jenelle gained more custody but was only granted visitation plans. Jenelle can see Jace only on weekends, holidays, and during the summer; so most of Jace’s life, including his birthday celebrations, are up to Babs.

Even though Barbara didn’t want to relinquish any of her rights over Jace to Jenelle, she didn’t seem very upset about giving Jenelle more visitation rights. She and Jenelle were both reportedly relieved that the proceedings did not devolve into a battle in the courtroom.
Even though the proceedings didn’t end in a full out fight, their relationship is still in a very strained place. Reports say that the two hardly speak if they can avoid it. Barbara told Us that her relationship with her daughter is “very, very strained right now, as it usually is. She hates me.”

Barbara decided to give Jace a huge birthday celebration for his eighth birthday. She posted pictures of Jace hanging out with a bunch of his friends at the celebration, but there was someone very important missing: Jace’s mother.
Barbara posted pictures of the party on her Instagram where Jenelle could see them, even though she wasn’t invited. She wrote, “Jace having his 8 year old Birthday Party today with his friends Great Day!!!” She didn’t even mention the fact that he was partying without his own mother.
