If this sounds familiar, that’s because last year Jenelle and David had the same game plan during Hurricane Florence. The hurricane made landfall in mid September of last year, and Carolina residents were urged to evacuate as the coastal areas prepared for historic levels of flooding. Jenelle’s home was in the direct path of Florence, but the family remained in their home.
Jenelle’s home lost power early in the storm, which had fans concerned for their safety. She shared on Twitter that there was “…lots of rain, flooding, washed out roads, broken dams, falling trees killing people, tornados, dolphins in the streets, sharks on highways, alligators running around, and wild snakes outside swimming” in the aftermath of Florence.
So what is happening with Hurricane Dorian this time around?
The storm is currently a category 1 storm as it hit the Outer Banks in North Carolina, according to the New York Times.
Yesterday, Jenelle shared an update on their home, which was a picture of one of her dogs on the porch. On the ground below, it appears large puddles were starting to form.
“Yard is flooding…storm isn’t even here yet,” she wrote on the story.
Jenelle then shared another update on her animals today, posting a video of her pigs, ducks, and dogs in the yard.
“All the animals are safe from #HurricaneDorian,” she captioned the video. The yard doesn’t look nearly as flooded or swampy as the first photo she shared.
Barbara Evans shared an update on their experience with the hurricane as well. She posted a photo of a scrambled eggs, cheese, and what appears to be hamburger buns and butter.
“Making breakfast in driveway after Hurricane Dorian for Jace and I no power,” she captioned the photo.
Fans on reddit were quick to compliment Barbara’s resourcefulness.
