This house is huge!
Since its inception on MTV, Teen Mom and its spinoffs have gained a huge following, which means financial success. The cast members now pull in very sizable paychecks, leading to more lavish lifestyles than the everyday girl who became pregnant at the age of 16. The money the moms earn from sharing their lives allows many of the cast members to buy decadent homes for themselves and their family. For example…
Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood’s ex, Gary Shirley, has been a feature of the show since 16 and Pregnant, meaning he got enough funding to live a celebrity lifestyle. He’s showing it all off with this huge 5-acre farmhouse he purchased for himself and his family.
When they first appeared on 16 and Pregnant, Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley stayed together in a small apartment. The space was barely enough for them, let alone for raising their daughter Leah. Over the years, with those big Teen Mom paychecks coming in, they’ve both been able to upgrade their places of living to accommodate their needs.
Gary has exclusive custody of nine-year-old Leah. The two live with Gary’s wife-of-two-years Kristina and Leah’s half sister Emilee. Seems that it was time for an upgrade for this growing family, so Gary has recently locked down a $333,000 farmhouse property on nearly five acres of land.
Considering how much the Teen Mom cast members get paid, it’s safe to assume Gary can afford it.
Room to Spread Out
According to Radar Online, the 4.89 acre property was built in 1990. The house is a four-bedroom home with three bathrooms. The farmhouse was stripped down and rebuilt to become a home, featuring ample amenities and gorgeous design. The kitchen features hickory cabinets and modern appliances, including a 12- foot island for cooking and entertaining.
There’s so much space here that everyone can have their own room but there will still be another bedroom for a future child.
The land has two chicken coops, a barn, and space for a garden. When Gary first told Amber that he wanted to surprise Leah with his new home, Amber questioned how he planned to use the space.
“You’re going to have five acres. What are you going to do?” she asked. Gary told her that he had already ordered 90 chickens to keep on the land!
