Jenelle just welcomed her third child, Ensley, into the world this year, but not all of her pregnancies ended in a birth.
In her memoir, Read Between the Lines: From the Diary of a Teenage Mom, Jenelle opens up about her experiences with abortion and miscarriages, both of which happened when she was with her ex-husband Courtland Rogers. Now she’s facing accusations that she faked the miscarriage.

Even though Jenelle is set to be married to her third baby daddy, David Eason, in September, she had to make it through some difficult relationships before finding the right match. That involves ex-husband Courtland Rogers, who physically abused her in addition to aiding her addiction to heroin, according to her memoir. She writes that he physically abused her when he found her texting someone else and wasn’t convinced the baby was his.
Two Pregnancies

Jenelle found out she was pregnant by Courtland two times during their relationship. For one pregnancy, she decided to have an abortion because she worried that Courtland would not be a good father figure.
When she found that she was pregnant a second time, the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Although she had been open about her miscarriage, she went into further detail about it in her memoir, including Courtland’s role in it.

This pregnancy became a point of tension between the two and led to verbal abuse. Courtland “became very verbally abusive,” she writes in her memoir. “His favorite thing to do during arguments was tell me that our child wasn’t his because I was a whore.” She continued, “Courtland slapped me around a few times, then started punching me in the gut.”
She says that she called a friend, who called the police. She sent the police away to prevent MTV from finding out about her relapse, but by that point, the damage had been done.
“I packed a bag and went to spend the night with my mother,” she wrote. “I woke the next morning to a pool of blood between my legs. My mother rushed me to the emergency room, where they explained to me that I had suffered a miscarriage due to my recent altercation with Courtland.”
