Over the years, we’ve seen some pretty major claims made by the cast members of Teen Mom... and not all of them turn out to be true. It’s not uncommon for the cast members to embellish the truth a bit, nor is it rare for them to outright lie about certain events. But could Jenelle have made up something so serious?
Jenelle Evans has a pretty rocky past — and unfortunately for her, nearly all of her poor decisions have been filmed and aired by MTV. Now, she’s coming under fire yet again for a major claim that she made about her son.

Jenelle is pretty much a pro at defending herself against angry fans. She’s been doing it practically since she first started on 16 and Pregnant, and as she’s started new relationships and had more children, the fanbase has become even more accusatory.
Recently, though, these accusations have been more and more intense. Instead of simply claiming she’s cheated in relationships or lied about certain things, fans have begun to suspect that she and David may be guilty of abuse.
These suspicions often come out when Jenelle and David’s tempers rise on Teen Mom 2, and this season, that seems to be practically every episode. In a recent episode entitled “Unicorn Poop,” fans became incredibly upset about David and Jenelle raising their voices at their children.
In the episode, Jenelle and her family head out on a ski trip to celebrate her birthday. She has her hands full with her three children Ensley, Jace, and Kaiser, as well as her step-daughter Maryssa. But she and David are used to having their hands full raising their kids, so they packed up the car and jetted off on their trip. Although things started off well, it didn’t take long before tensions started to rise.
During the breakfast scene the following morning, fans were shocked by how high David’s temper seemed to be with his step-children.
“The weekend was going great, but last night, the kids were acting up and we didn’t get any sleep,” Jenelle explains in the voice-over. “We were planning to do something fun before we went home today, but David and I are exhausted.”
“These kids are f*cking driving me nuts,” David says while cooking breakfast. “They’re about to go to their bedrooms to take a nap. ‘Cause ever since I woke up, they’ve been running around, like, going crazy.”
In the next room, Kaiser appears to be playing on the couch. “I don’t understand what his problem is!” Jenelle exclaims.
David’s temper has made numerous appearances on the show, but the way that he dealt with Jenelle’s son Kaiser made fans very uncomfortable.
After Jenelle and David get upset with Kaiser for spilling his juice, Kaiser says that he has to “go poo.”
“No! You already did this morning!” Jenelle exclaims, but Kaiser says, “I’m going to poop in my pants.”
David is not having it. “If you poop in your pants, you’re going to be in big trouble mister. You just went to the potty. Stop it. Eat your food.”
A number of Teen Mom fans are parents themselves, and they were extremely alarmed that David wouldn’t let Kaiser go to the bathroom when he asked to. In fact, even Nathan and his girlfriend Ashley had something to say about it.
“Kaiser says he needs to poop and they said he couldn’t go potty. He says I’m gonna poop my pants and he gets told he’ll be in trouble if he does...yet they won’t let him to go to the bathroom. What a mind f*ck!” wrote Twitter user @HoeStephan. Nathan’s girlfriend Ashley responded, “This isn’t the first time kaiser told [Nathan] & I he was not allowed to go potty. Probably why when he pees the bed at night he tries to hide it by changing his clothes and hiding them.”
She added, “Before someone tries to poke holes in my story , Kaiser did not use the exact words ‘I’m not allowed.’ I stated that referencing what he has told us multiple times. ANY time he says he has to go potty [Nathan] takes him. No matter how many times a day he says it.”
Needless to say, many fans were beyond upset with Jenelle and David’s actions, but others were quick to come to their defense. Jenelle soon began interacting with fans on Twitter who defended her with similar experiences.
Jenelle retweeted one fan’s experience. “The dinner table scene where Kaiser said he had to use the bathroom reminded me of my daughter,” wrote Twitter user @hannahpolakowski. “Every dinner she would say she had to go just so she didn't have to eat. And once we caught on to what she was doing, we started saying no too. She grew out of that phase eventually.”
The fan added, “I'm reading some of these tweets and I'm like really? My kids have their behavioural moments and they are disciplined, reprimanded, etc. Am I a bad mom? Am I abusive? I'm far from. My kids will not grow up and be disrespectful, entitled teens/adults. Thank you very much.” User @EubanksLIndsey added, “He tried a game to get out of eating, in didn't work so he back talked several times. Did they snack him? No. Did he even put a hand on him? No. This is why kids in classrooms now days run all over teachers, and teachers/authority figures have lost complete control of minors!”
But Jenelle also retweeted another fans’ experience that was much different. User @JADRunyan wrote, “My daughter (11) has an eating disorder... Was hospitalized for it for three months this year.. She did this frequently (going to the bathroom) to use eating disorder behaviors. Good for you for catching on and not allowing him to go. I say ALL the time she isn't allowed to go.”
Obviously, fans were shocked that Jenelle would imply her situation is similar to this mother’s.
“I highly HIGHLY doubt a 3 year old has an eating disorder,” wrote @MrsCannasutra. “Yeah great comparison. The preteen who's been toilet trained for years (hopefully) to the toddler who is just getting out of diapers. She did the right thing, don't want Kaiser purging the dinner he hasn't eaten yet ” wrote @Youretheworst2.
User @kaylene_hawkins agreed, “He’s a freaking 3 year old, this is a time to teach, encourage and nurture him and let him express himself and find out just who Kaiser is as a human. Not force him to eat or threaten him if he has an accident. This is such an important age to listen and learn who your child is.”
Fans on reddit were similarly amazed.
“This woman's daughter is 11, Kaiser is not even 4,” worte user Copcardramatics. “Do 4 year olds even have the mental capacity to have an eating disorder? Jenelle fans are literally insane, and she buys right into and uses it to justify her actions. You couldn't make this sh*t up!”
User shenanigansarefun wrote, “ Let the kid poop. It’s not healthy to hold it. She’s gonna give him anxiety and shame about using the toilet and he’s never going to potty train. If he has to go you stop and take him. And if they eat around the same time of day it could just happen to be the time he has to go number two. Hell for a year I was on the same schedule every day at what time I had to use the bathroom around.”
Fans were amazed by Jenelle’s Twitter activity, but this isn’t the first time that the topic of eating disorders has come up among Teen Mom fans. Many were concerned that Chelsea Houska could be hiding an eating disorder!
The rumors started after Chelsea began displaying her growing baby bump, revealing that her frame was remaining quite small throughout her pregnancy.
Reddit user keatonpotat0es joked, “If that’s her at 20 weeks pregnant then I must be like six years pregnant.” User teabaggedyourdrumset wrote, “Jesus I'm about to be 23 weeks tomorrow with my second and I'm HUGE. I can't believe she's so tiny with her third. Good for her!”
But there were some fans who are concerned about Chelsea’s relationship with her weight. This may have to do with her promoting a weight loss program while she’s pregnant.
“I mean I feel like there's being in shape while pregnant, and then there's this. Tbh i won't be surprised when a few years from now Chelsea reveals she was suffering from an eating disorder,” wrote user disenchanted_elle. “Unpopular opinion so come at me bro.”
User Pinkiexoxoxo wrote, “2 stints of treatment at [eating disorder clinic] Renfrew for anorexia in my early 20's and I agree. I feel like eating healthy and treating your body with respect is a GOOD thing but i feel like her obsession with weight after Watson and now into this pregnancy is going a bit far. I think she ‘prides’ herself on being little as opposed to be being healthy.” User awolfsvalentine wrote, “i too have been admitted for treatment twice for anorexia and recognize patterns of behavior i’m seeing with our girl chels here.”
But not everyone is buying it. User bbytoysevrywhere wrote, “I'm anorexic as well and I don't really see it with Chelsea. It's not very nice to say someone is anorexic bc they're small or bc you think they're too small being pregnant. It can cause serious problems with the baby to be actively anorexic while pregnant so I think that adds another layer to this accusation that indirectly implies that she's causing her baby harm.”
User Xsmash8 wrote, “There’s legit nothing wrong with this pic. Plenty of pregnant people look like this. It’s healthier than someone with excessive weight.”
Many of the cast members have even been accused of promoting eating disorders with a new weight loss product.
“#ad I’ve really been liking @flattummyco’s new lollipops that just dropped this week. They’re designed to suppress my appetite, and I find they’re already started working. Over the past couple days whenever I felt like snacking, I’ve been reaching for these lollipops instead, andI find I’m not eating anything else between meals. You gotta get your own. #suckit #flattummypops,” reads one of Jenelle’s recent Instagram posts.
Another reads, “#ad I never thought I’d see the day that @flattummyco came out with LOLLIPOPS as a way to help keep my stomach looking flat, but they did! Since I have a massive sweet-tooth and I’m pretty much always chasing one of my kids around, this is pretty much the best it can get for me (yummy and convenient)! I get to have lollipops, keep my appetite in-check, and continue to work towards my goals for a fit + toned tummy. Yep, my cravings can #suckit. You guys should try these out with me - berry is definitely my favorite! #flattummypops.”
But Jenelle isn’t the only one touting this new product. Farrah Abraham also shared a snap of her new product!
“#ad I’m so excited to tell you guys about what’s already my new favorite thing; @flattummyco's appetite suppressant lollipops! 🍭I seriously don’t know how they did it, but they’re super yum and only have 35 calories with no artificial flavours or preservatives. I just grab one when I’m starting to feel hungry in between meals and they completely hold me over until my next meal. I’m obviously going to be carrying these around with me all summer 💁🏽. Ladies if you haven’t yet…you should really check them out! #flattummypops,” she wrote.
Even Mackenzie McKee got in on the party, sharing a snap of her in workout gear with a lollipop in her mouth.
She wrote, “#ad I wasn’t sure what to expect when @flattummyco came out with appetite suppressant lollipops but I figured they’d be good. Turns our they’re soooooo good! It’s been about a week and I tend to use mine between lunch and dinner (that’s when I found I was reaching for snacks as often as my kids) you know, just something to hold me over until dinner. And since I started using them, I haven’t been reaching for extra snacks and my stomach is already looking better. You gotta check them out for yourselves. #flattummypops.”
Fans on Twitter and reddit were both upset about the product.
User @theheatherashley wrote, “WEIGHTLOSS PSA: Appetite suppressants aren’t how you lose weight, they’re how you gain anorexia. Your body NEEDS food to fuel it’s body or it will eat itself to make sure you don’t die. When it starts eating itself, your metabolism lowers, working against future weightloss.” User @kelseyfeldman agreed, “If you’re hungry then you should eat. This isn’t something to promote especially to the younger audience you have.” User @carrie.b.nongkhlaw even wrote, “Let’s take action guys as responsible adults!!!! REPORT THIS TO IG ASAP!!!!! The more people report the more IG WILL REMOVE!!! THESE types of INSENSITIVE ADVERTS are the reasons why kids have eating disorders!!!!” And @0711_v wrote, “as an influencer, you should be ashamed of yourself. these kinds of stuff leads to eating disorders.”
Chelsea was also slammed for her promotion of a different weight loss regime!
“I’ll be blogging my entire journey, including how this has helped me make better choices during my current pregnancy, telling my fav profile foods and recipes and so much more that I love about Profile!!” Chelsea wrote on a recent Instagram update. “If you’re ready to get started and join me with Profile, use my code: CHELSEA for 50% off a membership!!! Such a great deal! Best decision I made after Watson and its helped me so much to remain healthy during this pregnancy!! Can’t wait to tell you more!! Xoxo.”
She soon updated with more information about the product and process. “About a year ago, after I had my son. I wasn’t feeling great about myself and wasn’t feeling like myself in general. I decided to sign up for [weight loss program Profile] and make a lifestyle change.”
She explained that “Before I knew it, I was where I wanted to be AND feeling great. When I got pregnant again, i was so glad to learn that they also offer a program during pregnancy, with a goal of achieving a healthy pregnancy with the healthy weight gain that you need. My doctor has been so glad to hear that I’ve been following their plan and making it a priority to take care of myself.”
But some fans just weren’t buying it, and the timing with her pregnancy made things even touchier.
“Shady,” wrote reddit user charcuterie_bored. “Seems like a typical d-list celeb money grab. I highly doubt she actually used this specific program to lose weight.” User beautiousmaximus wrote, “Idk going on a diet while pregnant is weird in every way.”
Many fans clearly believe Chelsea didn’t use this program to lose weight at all. “Why in the frack is Chelsea shilling a medical weight-loss program when she is pregnant? Like, we get it. You lost a ton of weight after Watson. Big whoop. But now claims it was this program (told her 'fannzzzz' it was keto) and is now pregnant shilling this?” wrote user makeupaddikt08.
Fans even worried that the products could be unhealthy during pregnancy, and that Chelsea could be inspiring others to try them despite this fact. “It p*sses me off that they shill this sh*t while pregnant. There's no long term studies on this, so I wouldn't risk taking it while pregnant but if people ask them they'll say ‘oh yes it's safe!’ Knowing d*mn well they aren't really using it. Anything for an easy dollar.”
