Fans think that they won't make it to "I Do!"
The season is over and the reunion is halfway done, but that doesn’t mean that Teen Mom 2’s Jenelle Evans is going to get a break from drama. The famously troubled reality star is at the center of some new relationship rumors and, honestly, it feels like history is repeating.
Despite the fact that Jenelle just got engaged to her boyfriend-and-third-baby-daddy last month, fans are already discussing whether the couple has called it quits! Here’s what we know...
Trouble in Paradise?
David Eason may have just popped the question, but fans think that Jenelle Evans’s walk down the aisle may not come—or at least not without a few bumps along the way. No, we’re not talking more baby bumps… Though I wouldn’t be surprised.
We’re actually talking relationship bumps because some new (and apparently fishy) social media behavior has led fans to think that the couple has called it quits just a month after their engagement.
Possibly!
It all started yesterday when Jenelle’s newest fiancé mysteriously dropped off of Facebook and her followers reacted… well, (predictably) dramatically. David’s disappearance from 50% of his social media accounts (the only other one he has is an Instagram) paired with Jenelle’s similarly-timed profile picture change on her profile got people talking.
Engagement Number One...
It’s fair speculation, considering that Jenelle has been engaged twice before (and married to one of those guys), and both relationships ended fairly quickly and dramatically. There was, of course, engagement number one to Courtland Rogers, which in fairness did end in a wedding… But an extremely short-lived one. Jenelle dated Rogers for just a few months before tying the knot and the marriage lasted for only a fraction of that time.
And Number Two
Her second engagement was to Teen Mom 2’s most legally-troubled baby daddy, Nathan Griffith, just after Jenelle gave birth to their son Kaiser in 2014. Though they were together for much longer than she and her ex-husband were, Nathan and Jenelle called it quits before making it down the aisle (and just a few months into their engagement), citing their constant fighting as the reason for their split.
Jenelle and David...
So now, we have Jenelle in a similar situation (a fairly young relationship, a new baby before the engagement, and a rushed proposal shortly after the birth), and fans think David’s disappearance from Facebook means that their dreams and matrimonial bliss have been dashed. It’s a tempting narrative—especially for those who revel in Jenelle’s relationship wreckage—but I’ve got to say that I don’t think it’s the right one…
Sleuthing!
For starters, the Facebook activity means almost nothing in my book. To cite Jenelle’s alleged profile picture change as evidence seems like a significant stretch to me. It’s worth mentioning that as of now her default photos on all her social accounts (and his Instagram) show the whole happy family, although InTouch reported that her Facebook profile was different for some period of time.
That said, if she did change it, she’s a new mom—Jenelle probably just liked that photo with her adorable little girl, Ensley!
For Real, Though
As for David’s Facebook hiatus? There are plenty of reasons that he may have deleted his profile that don’t have to do with a break-up.
Not to mention, his Instagram still exists and was used to upload a photo of him and Jenelle three days ago. Besides, he’s never been one for over-saturating social media before, so until there is more than a missing Facebook to go on, I don’t think we can really draw any conclusions about what it means.
Smooth Sailing
Additionally, there is a lot more evidence pointing to them still being together than there is pointing to a break up. Jenelle’s Facebook still reads “engaged.” Her Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram accounts all still show plenty of love for her man. Just today the mom-of-three retweeted a post from a fan (user @ambermabe) about how good David is for her and she posted videos of David playing with Kaiser to Snapchat.
Good Luck, Guys!
Suffice it to say all seems peaceful in the Eason/Evans home at the moment. Will it stay that way? Who knows, but for the time being there is no compelling indication that Jenelle and David won’t make it to their wedding day—and I really hope for the best for them!
