The Teen Mom family is getting a little bigger, and that can only mean one thing: even more drama.
Ever since Jade Cline moved to Teen Mom 2, there’s been a gap in the Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant cast. MTV has decided to fill that with two new faces: Kiaya Elliott and Rachel Beaver, both of whom present a whole new treasure trove of trials, tribulations, and baby daddy problems.
Although the two made their debut with the premier of this season of Young and Pregnant, there’s more to Rachel Beaver than meets the eye. In fact, her entire family is no stranger to problems with the law.
Rachel Beaver’s situation with her pregnancy and trying to find the identity of her baby daddy is hard enough… but it turns out she’s no stranger to being in difficult situations. Radar Onlinerecently reported that Rachel’s mother, Stephanie Bollen, who is also a new Young and Pregnant cast member, has been sued for failure to pay child support numerous times.
Court papers from Cobb County Court obtained by Radar reveal that the Human Resources Department sued Stephanie for the recovery of child support for her three children in 2008.
According to the legal claim, Stephanie “failed, neglected or refused to provide adequate and timely support for said minor children.” Radar reports that she also failed to provide accident and sickness coverage for her three daughters, Malorie, Carter, and Rachel herself.
Because Rachel’s mother failed to appear in court, she was ordered to pay $350.16 per month. However, she apparently couldn’t make these payments as by 2009 she “willfully failed and refused to comply with said order,” and owed a total of $3,612.29.
In 2011, the case was dismissed by the Plaintiff because they were “unable to locate the defendant.”
In 2013, a Complaint of Contempt was filed against Rachel’s mom, as she owed a whopping $17,495.73 in child support. Later that year, an order was issued for her arrest. Radar reports that the arrest was likely never made.
In 2016, Stephanie owed $21,384.16. She filed a motion to dismiss which claimed that the Petitioner “has failed in material respects to comply with the rule and such requires the dismissal of the Petition,” according to Radar.
The claim continued, “The respondent cannot properly assess possible defenses or other responsive pleadings until such time as the Petition is properly filed and served upon her.”
“She does not deny being in arrears with the State of Georgia as of the entry of the Order setting the same at $6,305.54 and would show the Court that she has been paying on the same regularly and but for the lack of information being made available by Georgia DCS to date may have satisfied the bulk of that arrearage,” the filed answer to Petition for Registration of Foreign Judgment from Stephanie reads.
She agreed to pay $50 a month to settle her past child support debts.
In the premiere of Young and Pregnant, Rachel revealed that it’s not just money problems her mother has; Stephanie has also battled with addiction.
And when it comes to raising her child, that’s far from the only issue Rachel has had. She also revealed she’s not sure who her baby daddy is.
“I’m Rachel,” she spilled in the preview for the new season, which debuts on October 22nd. “I’m eight months pregnant.”
She went on, “This is Drew, my ex and my baby’s father… At least, that’s what I think! Because I’ve been on and off with him and his best friend Jacob, Drew isn’t convinced that the baby is his, and hasn’t even been there for me at all.”
And, since it’s Teen Mom, of course it’s a little more complicated than that. Rachel spills: “When I first found out I was pregnant, I had hoped Jacob was the father.” In a conversation with her friend, Rachel reveals, “We thought she could have been Jacob’s because they kept changing my conception date and all that… [I told Jacob] I’m sorry I even led you on to think you had a possibility, but she’s not yours.”
She adds, “Jacob can’t stand the fact that I’m having a kid with his best friend, and he just doesn’t want to get attached. He’s had me blocked for almost a month now, and I don’t think he’s coming back.”
Rachel also reveals that she doesn’t have high hopes for Drew, who she thinks is her child’s father.
“I hope that when the baby is born, Drew will step up. But it’s not looking good.”
