This Teen Mom has clapped back at haters who say she doesn't have a "real job." She's tired of people thinking she doesn't work hard, and we don't blame her!
Although the cast members get paid to be on the show, they often hold other jobs, open businesses of their own, and find other ways to expand their cash flow. Keep reading to find out what she had to say!
This Teen Mom star has had it with people telling her to “get a real job,” mostly because she already has one!
We know the Teen Mom girls make some decent money, more money than many of us will ever see. But, the girls often take on side businesses or promote products for a little something on the side to help!
Chelsea Houska is a fan favorite of Teen Mom 2 as she works with husband Cole DeBoer to raise their children, and her ex spilled the beans that the star makes around $300,000 a season!
Other stars are a bit more coy about their salaries, but they too make a large sum. It’s reported that Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra make around $280,000 each, which could be even more by now.
Most of these stars are veterans of the Teen Mom franchise, but one star is making wildly less than the others.
The last we reported, Briana DeJesus was making around $20,000 a year. That’s pretty low, especially compared to her co-stars and for someone trying to raise two children, so she has kept her steady day job.
It looks like it’s been working for Briana, because she just bought her first house!
Now it appears Briana is tired of people criticizing how she makes money. The Hollywood Gossip reported that the MTV star clapped back at haters.
“I hate when people tell me to get a real job,” she tweeted. “I have one! I work in corporate America. Regular 9-5 like everyone else.”
That’s refreshing, but it is interesting that the show does not to highlight this in her storyline!
“I’ll never forget where I came from,” she concluded her tweet.
“It’s not on the show, and people don’t look beyond that. I give you credit for still keeping it. Congrats on the new home,” replied one Twitter user.
“There’s always going to be people who hate you when you have a 9-5, AND a side hustle!” tweeted another.
“The show is on its last leg, smart to keep the job. And I’m not saying that to be an a**, I’m being truthful. OG ratings are tanking. It’s good to have a backup plan and have money saved,” replied a third.
Teen Mom ratings have come under fire lately, and fans are questioning how long the show will remain on TV.
Radar Online reported that Farrah Abraham brought in over a million viewers per episode to Teen Mom before she was fired. Since then, the ratings have continually dropped.
The outlet reported that after Bristol left, the ratings continued to go down. The season premiere only brought in 990,000 viewers, and by the end of the month of June their viewers dropped to just 849,000. By mid-July, only 679,000 people were watching the show.
The last season finale that aired featuring Farrah had ratings of 1,098,000.
Farrah told Radar that the show “should be cancelled,” and said “No one is beliving the fake story lines.”
“These other parents are super fans of the OG girls and have been fans, planned pregnancy is not what Teen Mom OG was about,” she said. “And now it’s okay to keep planning pregnancies to get on TV? Sad mainly for the children.”
Farrah also told the outlet that she is “done” with reality television.
“I’m thankful I can bring a new element to unscripted and scripted TV soon, as a screen writer, director and producer,” she told them. “I’m blessed for my 10 years and can’t wait to make TV that is original, better made, better talent and better executives.”
