Shocking Photo Reveals ‘Teen Mom’ Star’s Rumored Drug Relapse

For the entirety of the Teen Mom OG season that just concluded, Ryan Edwards insisted that he was sober. Right before the beginning of the season, he attended a short rehab program and was released early. He insisted that drug use was a thing of the past. As time goes on, it has become clear that this isn’t the case.

Ryan and his baby mama Maci Bookout faced off time and time again when Maci refused to let Ryan see his son. She informed him that the moment he could pass a drug test, she’d let him spend time with Bentley again… but Ryan was never able to produce clean results.
Ryan had a lot of vague claims about why he wouldn’t give his drug test results to Maci, and called her a liar on more than one occasion. In fact, things got so ugly that he refused to even appear on stage with Maci during the Teen Mom OG reunion. Just when fans were starting to question what was actually going on between the two, the truth came out: Ryan relapsed again in a very public way.

The news came out right at the end of the season of Teen Mom OG, contradicting months of Ryan claiming that he was sober.

Red-Handed

According to a citation from Red Bank City Court in Tennessee and published by Radar Online, 30-year-old Ryan Edwards was pulled over at traffic stop because he had an expired tag in late April of 2018. However, police noticed something more than just a routine law violation. One officer noticed that Ryan had an open backpack in the passenger seat with hypodermic needles inside.

“I asked Edwards if he had any medical conditions and he replied, ‘No,’” the citation published by Radar reads. “I then asked why he had a hypodermic needle in his backpack and he replied, ‘I don’t know.’ I told them that the vehicle will be searched and he should inform me if there are more and Edwards replied, ‘Yes, probably.’”

Police searched the vehicle and found fourteen hypdoermic needles in Ryan’s possession. One of them was loaded with heroin, and there was also a “bag tied in the center console with a dark substance inside,” reports Radar. When the police officer asked what it was, Ryan seemed to be very aware of what was going on. He informed police officers, “It’s heroin and I have a problem.”

Officers also found two silver spoons with residue as well as a scale. Ryan was in possession of 1.8 grams of heroin, painting a very clear picture of the state of Ryan’s addiction.

Ryan wasn’t arrested, but he was issued a misdemeanor citation for simple possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ryan pled guilty and was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail. However, his sentence was suspended for his payment of $750 and good behavior. Ryan was then ordered to take drug screenings for six months.

Even though this public drug bust shocked fans, it appears that it wasn’t the end of Ryan’s relapse. The source for this update is unexpected: it’s Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry!

Nodding Off?

Kailyn Lowry and her co-host Lindsie Chrisley often discuss Teen Mom updates on their podcast, Coffee Convos. Even though they often spend the time gossipping, his time, they shared a shocking update with fans.
“Someone sent us a message talking about how they spotted Ryan Edwards in Chattanooga,” Lindsie revealed during the show. “It’s this terrible photo. He did look like he was sleeping. Not quite sure what was going on there.”

The person who contacted them also gave a description of what Ryan looked like. “Ryan Edwards [was] so f**ked up in Chattanooga this weekend with Mackenzie and his parents that he could barely hold his head up,” Lindsie read from their contact. “Face was either in his hands or his eyes were rolled in the back of his head for the entire five hours.”
But the girls didn’t know exactly where it was that Ryan was spotted. “My first thought is it looked like church pews,” Kailyn reveals on the podcast. Lindsie’s take was that it looked to be in a “rustic” setting. “It could have been a restaurant… Why would you be in church for five hours?”

According to Radar Online, who viewed the photo of Ryan but did not release it, Ryan “could be seen sitting on a bench slouched over with his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. HIs eyes are closed, and he appeared to be sleeping.”

Heartbreaking

Although the picture still hasn’t been released, many fans were quick to believe that Ryan is still using drugs. “Serious doubts Ryan is clean at this point. But anything possible I suppose,” wrote reddit user tmaddict. User Mbluna wrote, “Agree he’s likely not sober and it’s heartbreaking for Bentley as well as this new baby. Ryan so needs to wake up and get the help he needs!!”

It is upsetting for many fans to know that Ryan is using again, but what makes it worse is the fact that Ryan is about to be a father again with his wife Mackenzie Standifer! The couple confirmed the rumors on Teen Mom OG, but told production in advance while filming for the reunion in New York. Apparently, they were just so excited that they couldn’t help but let the news slip!

“That’s when most of the cast and even some of the crew found out Mackenzie was pregnant,” a source revealed to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. “Mackenzie and Ryan don’t know the sex of the baby yet, but are finding out on April 20.”

In fact, according to the source, Mackenzie is due around the same time that Chelsea Houska is!

“Ryan is actually really excited about this baby,” the source revealed. “They were trying to keep it quiet in the beginning, though, because they knew that [viewers] would have a lot of negative things to say.”

Unfortunately, they guessed right. Fans were quick to speak out with their less-than-cheerful thoughts on the announcement.

I wish Mack and Mimi the best of luck with co parenting the new baby,” wrote reddit user Chasingsleep. “Ryan will be, and has already checked out.” User thepillses wrote, “I really feel that these people have no sense of permanence or morality. The further the show goes, the more I’m losing faith in humanity. Neither Ryan or Mackenzie have any desire to parent their current children, why on earth would they create another human life? For money? Attention? To prove a point?” User kzdz00 wrote,
“She is such a shameless fame whore and perfectly willing to bring another innocent child into it to try to extend her 15 mins. So far Rhine has spent their marriage injecting heroin, screwing strangers in cars behind grocery stores and passive aggressively questioning every thing she buys when he is conscious enough to notice. Surely good things to come. Way to go Mac.”

Even Kailyn Lowry herself had some words to share about the pregnancy. She took to Twitter to share her obvious disdain for Mackenzie.

“People struggle with addiction and that’s unfortunate enough,” Kailyn tweeted right after Mackenzie revealed her pregnancy. “But in my own opinion. I see someone who came in and manipulated a situation to her own benefit. To secure a check.”

She added, “Then [she] went a step further and got pregnant. When they split, she is set with a couple of dollars. But that’s my own opinion.”

Soon after, Mackenzie spilled her thoughts on the matter to Radar Online. “[Kailyn is] such a b*tch… coming from someone who gets knocked up every two seconds by three different people.”

After Ryan’s arrest, she also denied it happening at all. “Everything is fine. He took a drug test yesterday and passed.”

But if there’s one thing that might make Mackenzie sing a different tune, it’s a break from Ryan. Fans expected the couple to part ways after news of him cheating was revealed by YouTube gossip reporter The Grace Report.

Ryan has been busted sending some naughty texts to other girls on Tinder on multiple occasions before, and as Grace reveals, “a leopard never changes its spots!”

One of Grace’s sources revealed that they matched with Ryan Edwards himself on Tinder. After Grace confirmed that it was indeed Ryan’s number, the source even called Ryan on the phone to ensure that it was really him. They added, “I’m sure you’ve heard Ryan’s having a baby with [Mackenzie]. But [like] if so, that’s kinda f*cked up if that’s really him texting me.”

But there’s a lot of false rumors in the Teen Mom community, so Grace had reason to be apprehensive. She took it into her hands to dial Ryan’s number to check it out for herself! When he picked up, she confirmed that it was distinctly Ryan’s voice, and given his history, this is no surprise.

“Guys, Ryan is in fact back on Tinder while he’s got a pregnant wife,” Grace said, adding, “It’s crazy to think that he could potentially get his pregnant wife and even their baby, maybe, sick with his promiscuous behavior as a married man.”

Just because fans weren’t surprised by the tea about Repeat Offender Ryan doesn’t mean the weren’t disappointed.

“Wow. He has absolutely not one concern in his life but chasing momentary pleasure, huh?” wrote reddit user justoneofmattskids. “Never mind that he’s married, eternally indebted to his undyingly loyal mother, and soon to be a father of two. But who gives a crap about letting down his family? Sex and drugs!”

Even though Mackenzie is not a very popular Teen Mom cast member, many fans are concerned about how she will react to this news. “I'm starting to feel a little worried/sad for Mackenzie,” wrote reddit use AdmittableWaw. “This is a lot to handle at once and especially being pregnant. We really don't know all the details or how she truly feels about Ryan. She could be in absolute love with him and this could be shattering her world right now. She could be this manipulative snake everyone claims her to be. or maybe she's just a naive young girl who thought her husband would quit drugs for their family. Either way its sad.”

Meanwhile, Maci Bookout might have quite a bit to distract herself from what’s going on with Ryan. Fans are convinced that Maci is pregnant with her fourth child!

The McKinney family took some time to celebrate Maci for Mother’s Day — and it seems she might soon have four children celebrating her! Maci captioned the video, “When Taylor asked me what I wanted to do for Mother’s Day, I told him I wanted to be wild and free! Took the top off the jeep, strapped the babies in and went to the mountains 💜 Hoping that one day my children will appreciate being healthy, wild and free!”

In the video, Maci and her entire family jam out to a country song called “Wild As You.” But it’s not until the very end of the clip that fans noticed something different. In the final shot of Maci and her family standing on top of the Jeep, fans thought they saw a baby bump!

“Did I see a bump in the picture?” wrote Instagram user @esmi_bbys. User @stacie_culotta agreed, “I see a bump!!!!!”
This is far from the only shot that has fans thinking Maci is already pregnant. In a recent selfie of her with Jayde and Maverick, fans zeroed in on the shape of Maci’s face!

“She’s pregnant again!! Those cheeks tell all!” wrote Instagram user @minot.noir on this picture of Maci. User mysticalostrich agreed, “She looks pregnant! HER CHEEKS! 😊😏” User @mariagro79 wrote, “Yes shes looks pregnant… Besides the round face she totally has a bump.”

In fact, many believe that the proof of Maci’s pregnancy lies in how smooth her skin is!

Reddit user VickiVyvanse wrote, “Does Maci use Botox? Watching the reunion and her forehead was so smooth,” adding this image of Maci at the reunion.

“Idk about Botox, but I’ve seen some speculation on Twitter that she’s pregnant bc her face does look fuller,” wrote user spookyookydoo. They added, “While I do not think she’s pregnant, I do think her face looks different. Can’t quite put my finger on what though.” User Pinkiexoxoxo wrote, “I definitely don’t think she’s pregnant either but I do think she looks great with a little extra weight on her and it very well could be here that she has that extra weight on….”

But Maci has also been considering having more children in other ways. She and Taylor have discussed adopting a child during the last Teen Mom OG season!

“What kind of timeline were you thinking about for adoption?” Taylor asked his wife in an episode of Teen Mom OG.

Maci revealed, “A year, two years… But we both agreed that when we adopt, we do not want to adopt a baby. We want to adopt a child.” They went on to agree that they would want a child between four and six years old.

“If you still want another baby, then I’ll do it — but I still want to adopt, too. And if that’s really what you want naturally, I want to do it now,” Maci revealed. Well, now it looks like they went through with their plans!
