Given how ugly Paul Staehle and Karine Martin's breakup was, it seemed that it would take a miracle to get them back together.
But despite all odds, it seems like the couple might be working things out - starting with dropping the restraining orders they had against one another.
Unfortunately, it's not just one another that Paul and Karine have to reckon with. Now, Paul is claiming that a crazed fan wanted to kill him!
According to Us Weekly, the couple dropped all three of their standing emergency protective orders as of September 16th.
This also meant that the couple did not have to appear in court in December.
And it's a good thing - since they just welcomed their second child!
"Born healthy and very fast,” Paul wrote of his son on Instagram. He added that his second son's name is Ethan!
Fans and family were quick to roll in with congrats for the couple. Hopefully, this birth went as smoothly as the last one!
“I am fine, and happy, even with the hard time I have had," Karine told Us Weekly at the time. "And I am recovering well, but I am still very weak. It was super hard, but now everything is fine."
What do you think of the big news?
For long term 90 Day Fiance fans, Paul Staehle and Karine Martin's's story is a tale as old as time... or at least as old as Before The 90 Days: Season 1.
The couple have featured on numerous seasons of the show since then, showcasing the struggles of dating with a language barrier, showing off their pregnancy and birth stories, and the adjustment to life in a new country.
But now it seems there's a darker side to their relationship that hasn't appeared on TV.
Trouble in paradise appeared in July when Paul went on Instagram to share some turmoil in the home - namely, that Karine had taken Pierre and disappeared.
“Karine took off with Pierre and I don’t know where they are,” Paul shared via Instagram live.
He went on to claim that Karine had a “full restraining order” against him.
In a written statement, according to Us, Karine claimed that Paul sexually assaulted her and forbade her from leaving her own home.
“I am terrified he will hurt me or hurt my son because I runned [sic] away from him and I am even afraid to go back to Brazil now because he can go to Brazil and hurt us,” she wrote, sharing that she does “not want any contact with him.”
Soon after, Paul filed for his own restraining order.
“I previously found glass in my food,” he revealed in court documents published by Us. “I found similar glass shards from an item she broke.” He also claimed that Karine "assaulted" him, and a judge ordered her to cease contacting Paul and stay 500 feet away from him.
“I have had to double up on my therapy to cope with this madness,” Paul shared via Instagram at the time. “Her motion against me with false allegations is for a 3-year restraining order against me and both my children. Alimony and child support. But I cannot see her or my children at all.”
However, Paul is now claiming that Karine isn't the only one who may or may not have had it out for him.
Paul opened up about his stan-turned-stalker on in Instagram.
"She lived with in New Albany, Indiana," he shared with fans. "She was not a government certified translator," he says, but she was a "Brazilian K-1 immigrant."
He claims that she tried to "get Karine to have an abortion."
Paul insinuated that the translator was a superfan who tried to work for him to get closer with nefarious intentions.
"Karine learned the woman planned to have me murdered," Paul claimed, adding that it was an "attempt to help her permanently get rid of me."
"The translator fan also had a Brazilian lawyer file a police complaint while I was alone here in Brazil," Paul claimed.
He added that "Karine's family defended me and made the police understand the allegations were false."
He even shared that this is making him apprehensive of returning to the U.S.
"I no longer feel safe returning to the USA knowing this woman wants me dead," he shared.
