Fans aren't having it.
Teen Mom 3's Mackenzie Mckee hasn't been on the show for years, but that doesn't mean she's fallen off of our radar. In fact, she turns up on our radar pretty often from her social media activity, and sometimes it's nothing too pretty.
She's got fans talking yet again from this recent tweet she's put out; it feels pretty racist.
Child Rearing Techniques
This isn't the first time that Mackenzie has been in hot water; fans have noticed that she's had some questionable childrearing techniques in the past. Granted, having a child at such a young age can be difficult, there are a few things that are over the line.
For example... When Mackenzie posted a picture of her four-year-old son holding a gun on Instagram, fans were more than a little alarmed. This is just one example of the less-than-safe situations her children have been in, and it seems like her reaction is always to snap a picture of it.
Strange Social Media
Even though Mackenzie hasn't been in front of the camera for years, she still manages to be at the forefront of many of our minds when she posts on social media. Sometimes they're just harmless updates, but every now and then she'll put out something kind of strange.
Early in 2017, her dog gave birth, but one of the puppies was stillborn. Instead of burying the dog, she let her son Gannon play with the dead body for hours. She has also recently posted a Snapchat of Gannon playing with a plastic bag, putting it over his head or around the back of his neck.
Mackenzie's New Tweet
Mackenzie took to Twitter to share: "My 5 year old son just came to tell me someone made a mean comment about his 'brown' skin and my heart just broke." Considering that Mackenzie's kids are both caucasian, it's hard not to read this text with slightly racial undertones.
Apparently, that was the reaction of the fan who quickly tweeted back, "Imagine what it's like for kids who actually do have brown skin...."
Fans React
As with most things on social media, this tweet has been getting a lot of attention from fans. Some of them were skeptical that this even happened. Reddit user greenholly wrote, "Somehow I seriously doubt this actually happened." User justoneofmattskids wrote, "Uhhh Gannon is whiter than Farrah's rug, though."
That said, some fans were quick to jump to her side. One fan, theglossiernerd accurately pointed out, "I can empathize both sides of this and kind of see it as her and the person who replied being on the same side. If some child made fun of her kid for having "brown" skin when he is just suntanned, imagine what that child will say to a kid who isn't white? Like her heart is breaking because clearly whoever made fun of her kid will also do it to others. The child who made fun of her son is clearly being raised in a racist household, which is actually really sad."
