The haters come for Jenelle once again
Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans and her fiancé, David Eason, have been busy celebrating the completion of their home, but apparently it’s not all good news. After months of teasing it, the reality star finally debuted her new home on Instagram last week to the delight of both her loving fans and her numerous haters.
The former group took the chance to praise Evans for how far she’s come, while the latter took the chance to let her know that her new home might put her children in "danger."
A Fresh Start
Jenelle Evans has really been trying to turn her public image around in the past few years. In the early days of the Teen Mom phenomenon, Jenelle quickly became the resident mess of the show(s)—kind of an impressive feat considering that Leah Messer, Amber Portwood, and Catelynn Baltierra all had their own substance abuse problems around the same time.
She Did It!
In spite of the fact that Jenelle wasn’t the only Teen Mom struggling, she always seemed to be doing a little bit worse than everyone else. She kept getting arrested, she didn’t have custody of her son, and somehow every boyfriend she picked was worse than the one before.
Then all of the sudden, she got clean, she had Kaiser, she broke up with Nathan Griffith, she met David Eason, and she turned it all around.
Forgive and Forget?
Unfortunately for Jenelle, the Internet doesn’t forget. Somewhat unfairly, fans of the show love to rip on anything and everything Jenelle does just because she had a rough go of things in the past. Despite the fact that she really does seem to have grown up, those leftover haters can’t let things go.
Naturally, this week, they’re going for her new home and asserting that it’s "unsafe" for her children because the area that it was built in is very rural and there might be snakes on the property.
Sure, okay.
What about the kids?
When Jenelle posted her first picture of the completed exterior of the new Evans-Eason family home, "fans" were quick to point out… Well, anything that they could think of to criticize her.
This time, it ended up being that there are likely snakes in the area which could put Kaiser, Jace, Ensley, Kaden, and Maryssa (the latter being David’s children) in danger when they play outside.
Mmm, okay, sounds super legit.
Here's the thing...
I know that I shouldn’t be so skeptical—snakes can be a big deal, especially the "copperheads and rattlers" that are known to be in the area—but it’s just so ridiculous. Anywhere that people live has specific, local dangers for parents to be concerned about.
In Jenelle’s area, it happens to be snakes; in the mountains, it’s bears; in Florida, it’s rogue alligators; in Australia, it’s basically everything.
Just a little!
Don’t think she knows that snakes are dangerous and has warned her children about it?
She knows.
Give her a little credit.
What'd she say?
In Stride
To her credit, Jenelle didn’t seem as bothered by the implication that she’s a bad mother for where she chose to build a home. She simply responded to the initial tweet about the snakes by saying that she and David had already spoken to their kids about safety outdoors, so good for her for keeping it classy.
She’s also kept mum on the Instagrammers telling her that her "modular home" is trashy or cheap, which I think is pretty great proof that maybe she really has changed (then again, her behavior over the weekend shows otherwise, so who knows).
Live and Let Live?
Anyway, that’s the story. That’s why people think Jenelle’s house is a danger to her kids.
Seriously, there are valid criticisms of Jenelle and all the other girls, but damn—let a girl live.
