Jenelle Evans has revealed new details of her medical diagnosis and how she is coping with the difficulties. Could this affect her children? Keep reading to find out.

In a new interview, Jenelle Evans detailed her long-term health problems and how she is coping with her diagnosis. The report comes after news of her previous surgeries and hospitalizations.
Jenelle exclusively told HollywoodLife, “With my health, I’ve been dealing with esophageal spasms for years.”
“Every time I would fly in a plane, even today, spasms happen in my chest,” the former Teen Mom 2 star explained. “Food or liquid will not pass through. Then, I throw up an hour into the flight and keep going until I land, which is a four hour flight, usually from North Carolina to Los Angeles.”
The mother of three has had to undergo serious testing, detailing: “I’ve had two endoscopies, two esophagus dilations.” Recently, at her doctor’s recommendation, Jenelle completed a “barium swallow” test. The procedure, a “special type of imaging test that uses barium and X-rays to create images of your upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract,” showed “poor esophagus motility” in the reality star.
Unfortunately, the process is not over for the North Carolina native. “The next step is an esophagus manometry test that lasts for 24 hours,” she revealed. According to Jenelle, “a catheter is put up the nose and down the throat to test wave lengths and acid/PH levels in the esophagus, which will all be recorded onto a small device.”
Luckily, throughout this ordeal, she has had David Eason by her side.
“David has been supportive of me and understands how severe this problem gets,” Jenelle gushed and added, “MTV has also witnessed it firsthand a few times.”
The condition sounds serious. Could this disorder affect her children as well? Her youngest son had to have surgery back in October.
“My poor bubba! After many many doctors appointments and tests... Kaiser had to get tubes in his ears and his adenoids removed like I did when I was little,” Jenelle wrote on her social media. “Hearing test showed his hearing was down by 40% and now his ears have already improved, super happy for him! However, Kaiser will hopefully be unaffected by esophageal issues.
“It’s not hereditary,” Jenelle explained to HollywoodLife, “but it’s known to be caused from an underlying issue as in acid reflux or certain other disorders.”
She continued, “We think it might be because of acid reflux, but we’re not too sure. But finally, we’re now starting to get answers.”
Jenelle’s health has been the subject of several news stories recently. E! News reported last month that she was hospitalized due to a lupus flare-up. People were shook by the news, and they had a LOT of questions.
Jenelle does not have lupus, and was not in the hospital. The article has since been updated, and the headline now reads “90 Day Fiancé’s Ashley Martson Hospitalized for Lupus Flare-Up.”
They posted a correction as well, saying “E! News previously incorrectly reported that Jenelle Evans has been hospitalized for a lupus flare-up instead of Ashley Martson. This story has been updated to reflect the correct information.”
However, Jenelle has suffered health problems of her own and shared her journey with fans along the way.
Radar Online reported that the former 16 and Pregnant star had to get emergency surgery back in October. The mother-of-three had to have an “invasive” procedure.
After months of recurrent sinus infections, Jenelle “was supposed to her sinuses drained, and now they’re doing more invasive procedure,” a source told the outlet. The post-operation recovery was rough on the former MTV star. Jenelle shared a few snaps on Instagram from her hospital room. The JE Cosmetics mogul is wearing dark sunglasses, pigtails, and some serious bandaging over her nose.
“Just want to say thank you for always taking care of me,” Jenelle captioned a selfie of her and David, adding “#Septoplasty #RoughRecovery” along with a heart emoji.
She also spoke out to give her side of the medical procedure.
“Mommas turn! Isn’t the prettiest picture of me, but I still wanted to share,” she wrote in another update. “I got a septoplasty and sinus surgery this week and still in recovery. Had a deviated septum at 90 degrees and my canals to my sinuses in my cheeks were almost closed!”
The Teen Mom 2 star added, “Now I can breathe again like it’s the very first time!”
“No, didn’t go to a plastic surgeon either,” Jenelle clarified. “This was done by an ENT after multiple CAT scans. 🙌🏻😍 #ThankGoodness #Septoplasty #Recovery #Surgery”
