Teen Mom, Teen Mom 2, and Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant have been popular shows over the years. I mean, let's face it, we have an entire website devoted to the series! But ratings have been steadily dropping, and rumors of the show's cancellation are circulating.
According to some sources, the show could end sooner rather than later, but when will that be?
The Teen Mom franchise might be on its last legs. Rumors of the show’s cancellation have been going around, and we aren’t sure what to believe just yet.
Back in August, we reported that Teen Mom OG’s ratings were dropping at a steady rate. The show tried to bring on Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd to help boost numbers, but the effort was not enough. Bristol left after just one season, and slammed the network for lying about her storyline.
Alternatively, Radar Online reported that Farrah Abraham brought in over a million viewers per episode to Teen Mom before she was fired. Since then, the ratings have continually dropped.
The outlet reported that after Bristol left, the ratings continued to go down. The season premiere only brought in 990,000 viewers, and by the end of the month of June, their viewers dropped to just 849,000. By mid-July, only 679,000 people were watching the show.
The last season finale that aired featuring Farrah had ratings of 1,098,000.
Even after the addition of Mackenzie McKee, Radar Online reported that only 693,000 tuned in for her debut.
Farrah told Radar that the show “should be cancelled,” and said, “No one is believing the fake storylines.”
“These other parents are super fans of the OG girls and have been fans, planned pregnancy is not what Teen Mom OG was about,” she said. “And now it’s okay to keep planning pregnancies to get on TV? Sad mainly for the children.”
Farrah also told the outlet that she is “done” with reality television.
“I’m thankful I can bring a new element to unscripted and scripted TV soon, as a screenwriter, director, and producer,” she told them. “I’m blessed for my 10 years and can’t wait to make TV that is original, better made, better talent and better executives.”
So although we’ve yet to see any original television from Farrah, rumors of Teen Mom going of the air have only gotten worse. Teen Mom OG didn’t air when it normally would, and now Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant may not get their reunion!
The Instagram account Teen Mom Mama Drama posted a screenshot of a source discussing the likelihood of the show going off the air.
In the screenshot, a message from someone named Steph Polo commented on the lack of reunion. “There’s not going to be your [sic] reunion or they would have filmed it about a month ago,” she wrote. “They consider that one we have for Teen Mom 2 was our reunion but if you don’t actually live watch the night of the episode of the season finale then there will be enough ratings.”
She didn’t give confirmation of where she got her information from, but ultimately is suggesting that the show will go off the air because ratings don’t account for people who watch the show after the air date.
A reddit thread explores the possibility of Young and Pregnant being cancelled altogether.
“Not surprising. There are a huge amount of people in this sub alone who keep watching the older girls, while saying they have no interest in pregnant teenagers anymore because they didn’t grow up with them,” one user wrote. “I’m sure many viewers feel the same way.”
Another user disagreed completely. “It makes literally no sense to me for them to cancel a show that is actually entertaining and actually shows the struggles of young motherhood, but keep the boring ass show that’s been on for 10 years about 30 year old entitled rich girls??? Huh???”
“They ended the episode saying Y&P was over but I took that to mean that the season is over not that they have made the decision to cancel the show and this is their announcement,” a third user commented. “It is lazy that there is no reunion but we get stuck with 3 weeks of the boring OG & TM2 casts. I personally would enjoy 3 weeks devoted just to the Beaver's! [sic]”

Farrah Abraham Reveals What She Really Thinks About Former 'Teen Mom' Co-Stars
When Farrah Abraham left Teen Mom OG, it wasn’t necessarily because of feuds between her and her cast members. The main feud was between her and the producers themselves!
But that doesn’t mean that Farrah and her co-stars always saw eye-to-eye. She developed bad blood primarily with Maci Bookout after Maci made it clear she didn’t approve of Farrah’s adult extracurriculars. But that feud extended to Amber Portwood after Farrah called out Amber’s deadbeat boyfriend, Matt Baier!
Since then, Farrah has kept herself away from the hate. She doesn’t interact with the Teen Mom stars much and it’s clear she’s started a new chapter in her life. But now, she’s revealing exactly where things stand between her and her ex-costars.
In an interview with Us Magazine, Farrah revealed that she’s levels above where her co-stars are.
“I talk to the creators and the executives surrounding that. I’m just on an executive level, and that’s where my life is,” Farrah spilled.
She made it clear she doesn’t have time for haters. “I don’t speak to people who don’t support me or bash me, who have tried to hurt me or my family,” she said.
But does that include her co-stars?
Apparently, Farrah is willing to forgive the bad blood between her and the OG girls.
“I wish all of the women all the best. I think that’s great — keep doing what they’re doing!” she told Us.
At the time, Farrah revealed she was happy with her decision to leave.
“I just feel proud of me standing up and just keeping in mind every other woman, every other experience, everybody who is in the LGBTQ community who has shared about me doing what is right, always trying to choose and make the right choices, navigating my life,” she said during her last Teen Mom OG reunion. She added, “I’m happy that I didn’t let people break me from my core, which I felt this production was doing and many people around me.”
In the meantime, Farrah may have a new love!
