With Teen Mom being on air for as long as it has, it should be no surprise that numerous fan theories have evolved over the years. Many times, these theories are grasping at straws, or can’t be confirmed by any evidence by the cast members or the show itself... but it looks like one of the most extreme and shocking theories may have some basis in the real world.
Many members of the Teen Mom fan community have often discussed the possibility of a “baby bonus,” meaning that MTV executives bribed cast members with an under-the-table payment for every time they got pregnant. Many fans believed that this is the reason that so many of the girls have had multiple pregnancies over the years.
But there’s more money that comes from Teen Mom pregnancies than just from MTV. And now that Kailyn Lowry has confirmed her fourth pregnancy, all of this is coming back to the spotlight.
When Kailyn Lowry was pregnant with her third child, she did everything in her power to keep the news a secret. She denied the pregnancy for weeks after news broke, and even after it became obvious she was pregnant, she refused to tell fans who the baby daddy was.
This time around, she's admitting to it!
It’s true that the Teen Mom world is notorious for spreading fake pregnancy rumors. From girls wearing baggy clothing that may resemble a baby bump to complaining about nausea that could be morning sickness, it doesn’t take much. But this time, Kailyn herself is confirming her pregnancy!
As for her third baby daddy, Chris Lopez, he and Kailyn were never really in an official relationship when she got pregnant! That's probably why Kail went to such lengths to keep secret who she was having a child with, even though that didn't work out for either of them in the long run.
Considering her history of baby daddies, it's no wonder that fans are so shocked who she's having her fourth child with!
It’s no secret that Kailyn has been open to having another child. She’s shared numerous times that she wants to have a big family, and that she would love to have her first daughter.
Luckily, unlike her situation when she was 16 and pregnant, Kailyn can afford to raise another child. It might not be considered the best idea by many fans, especially since those MTV paychecks will inevitably stop coming at one point or another. But with her recent haircare line Pothead launched, Kailyn should have enough money to take care of herself and her big family when her fame ends.
And now, it looks like that will be a family of five.
At first, Kailyn herself wasn't sharing the news. But someone close to her leaked the story: the family of the man who got her pregnant.
And how do we know this family, you ask? Well… It appears that the baby daddy is none other than Chris Lopez himself!
Kailyn and Chris’s relationship hasn’t exactly been a romantic love story before or after Kailyn gave birth to their child, Lux. Do you think it will change since they are apparently having another child together?!
“Wanna give a big congratulations to @kailynsfamily on the new addition [due] july 25.. Cant wait to meet baby number 2 for us- 4 for her,” wrote Instagram account @hhlg1975 today along with shots of an ultrasound. The account belongs to none other than Chris’s aunt!
As if this wasn’t enough, the nails in the photo clearly matched up to Kailyn’s nails on her Instagram back in December.
Now, we have Kailyn confirming all of this is true!
But even though this news was leaked weeks ago, Kailyn remained silent on the topic. Even though she skirted around the news, she did indirectly acknowledge all the rumors, implying that people didn't know the full story.
Her reluctance to confirm the news had fans wondering if Chris's Aunt made all of this up for attention. But now, there's no question in anyone's mind.

Kailyn spilled the news in a partnership with a company called Peanut.
"We’re confirming the news, baby #4 is coming soon! 🎉" she shared.
She went on:
"I’m almost 16 weeks pregnant & it’s been a rough few months this time around. I've had nausea, morning sickness, and absolutely no energy. 😭 This week I’m starting to feel a bit better and I'm really hoping it stays this way!🤰🏻@Peanut has been an amazing support for me since I found out I was pregnant again. Going through nausea and morning sickness while trying to keep the news a secret can be quite isolating. There are so many helpful threads on the app from other women who have been through it too. It's always reassuring to know you're not alone. Whether you're already a mom, pregnant, or trying to conceive, I really recommend you join the @peanut community. It's an amazing space to build friendships, find support and learn from other women at a similar stage in life. There's nothing like support from other women to get you through. ❤ #Peanutapp."
Now, fans and experts are trying to break down exactly how much money Kailyn made from this post!
Although it’s safe to assume that Kailyn may have made a little more than an average joe, Influencer Marketing Hub’s Instagram Money Calculator estimates that Kailyn only made $7,776-$13,100 from her announcement.
However, experts at Vox estimates that she may have made quite a bit more. "Influencers with up to 1 million followers can get $10,000 [per post], depending on the platform, and 1 million followers and up, you’re getting into territory where they can charge $100,000,” the outlet reports. “Some can even get $250,000 for a post! Especially if the content is on Youtube and the influencer is in the gaming industry."
It’s pretty unlikely that Kailyn got anywhere near $100,000, but it’s safe to say she made a good chunk of change. Meanwhile, fans discussed the ethics of paid pregnancy tests on reddit.
“I’m surprised Kail took such a low bid tbh; really says where her financial situation is at that she announced for $10k on Instagram and not a higher price through some tabloid source,” wrote retroverted_uterus.
User Lalablacksheep646 wrote, “I doubt this is how she announced it to her close friends or whatever so I don’t see what the big deal is. People act like this is how her boys found out or something.”
Would you do it?
Meanwhile, Kailyn has something else on her mind: her new show!
Kailyn Lowry Announces New Show After 'Teen Mom' Cancellation Rumors
Everyone knows that, no matter how much we want it to, Teen Mom can’t stay on the air forever.
In fact, most people are pretty surprised that it’s been on the air for as long as it has!
After ten solid years, fans are wondering more and more recently whether the next seasons of Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 will be the last.
And now, it looks like the cast members themselves are equally concerned… and maybe they know something we didn’t know!
As rumors of cancellation float around, Kailyn’s recent announcement may reveal that the show is coming to an end.
Since Teen Mom has been on the air for so long that it sometimes feels like it’s just a matter of time before it gets cancelled.
If dropping ratings weren’t enough, the fact that the cast members seem to be dropping off like flys isn’t helping.
When Farrah Abraham and MTV parted ways, it was a little confusing what exactly went down. Even though Farrah insisted that she was fired from the show, when footage of the actual altercation between her and executive producer Morgan J Freeman aired, the story got a little murkier.
After a lot of yelling, it seemed that Farrah essentially proclaimed she would no longer be working with MTV, and that it was her decision to leave.
Of course, that didn’t stop her complaining about MTV’s decision to fire her for weeks and weeks after.
But Farrah isn’t the only cast member to get fired from the show.
After tweeting homophobic remarks, Jenelle Evans now ex-husband, David Eason, was also fired.
Soon after, Jenelle’s time on the show ended as well, although the real reason for this is unclear. It seems that Jenelle wasn’t actually fired, but that she and MTV couldn’t reach an agreement about her contract continuing forward. Now, it looks like we’re in a similar situation with Amber Portwood.
Although some resilient fans defend her, it’s no wonder that most Teen Mom viewers are totally done with Amber Portwood after footage of her being violent towards her baby daddy Andrew Glennon while he was holding their son.
Since then, many have theorized that the lengthy duration between the finale of Teen Mom 2 and the premiere of next season of Teen Mom OG is due to the fact that MTV is deciding whether to fire Amber!
All of these changes have surely brought questions to the mind of the rest of the Teen Mom cast. Many of them have put their time and energy into side hustles, potentially trying to make sure they’ll still have an income after the show ends.
And as we all know, Kailyn has been working hard to establish her businesses. From the debut of her haircare line Pothead to her successful podcast Coffee Convos, Kailyn seems to be working hard to diversify her portfolio. Unfortunately, one of her shows is up against some struggles.
Fans waiting to tune into the most recent episode of Coffee Convos came away disappointed after realizing that Kailyn and Lindsie hadn’t uploaded anything this week. The two girls remained ambiguous about the reasoning behind their absence, but now they’ve released an official statement.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we're not able to record our show at this time. In the meantime, please stay tuned for exclusive content on our social media channels,” the statement posted on Lindsie and Kailyn’s instagrams as well as the Coffee Convos website read. This is after Kailyn and Lindsie hinted that there were “legal” issues preventing them from taking the show any further.
But an update from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup is clearing the air.
The Ashley uncovered online records that show that the owner of Wave Podcast Network, which is the network Coffee Convos is under, filed to get a trademark of the name Coffee Convos in February of 2019. That would give them legal rights to the name Coffee Convos.... Which would obviously prove to be a problem for Kailyn and Lindsie.
In November of 2019, “an opposition was filed against that company who filed that trademark,” The Ashley reports. The opposition was filed by Kail Lowry LLC, and took place right before Coffee Convos’ hiatus.
There seems to be some movement on this stalemate. The Ashley reports that the trademark filed by Wave Podcast Network is now listed as “Dead,” and the one Kailyn filed is listed as “Live.”
This means that Kailyn’s show might be back soon, but there are no official announcements as of right now.
In the meantime, Kailyn has announced that she has a whole new show!
The news dropped Twitter with a promo photo of her and Becky (photoshopped to look like they’re) sitting on a couch under the logo, “Chaos After Dark.”
On the poster is Kailyn and her best friend, Becky Hayter.
“Y’all asked for it,” Becky tweeted.
It’s not clear exactly what this podcast will offer that Coffee Convos doesnt, except for, obviously, Becky Hayter. But judging by the title, it seems that more aged-up or NSFW conversations might be in play.
Kailyn also spilled more info via Instagram.
Fans were quick to sound off about this on reddit.
“Iam beyond excited to announce a new journey that I will be taking with @hayter25. What feels like forever now we have gone back and forth trying to figure out something we could work on together. Well, the time has come. @ChaosAfterDark is a new podcast talking about late night topics, taboo themes, and controversial content. Giving us the perfect environment to be ourselves and supply you with the content you have been craving,” Kailyn wrote.
She added, “If you have any suggestions of topics or guests, or want to make an appearance on the show make sure to reach out to us through our website. Can’t wait for you guys to see what we have in store.”
And for fans who were no doubt wondering, Kailyn shared, “Please be aware that this does not interfere with @coffeeconvospodcast at all. We look forward to getting back into the weekly routine once all legal issues are taken care of.”
“Remember the good old days when there was just one Kail podcast you could choose to ignore?” wrote user Playcrackersthesky. User NarglesDidIt wrote, “You asked for it? Like this is a punishment?”
Even the promo photo got dragged by fans. “Don’t they live in the same general area of Delaware?? They couldn’t get together to take an actual picture in the same room? I’m usually terrible at spotting photoshop but that looks like a child size couch lol,” wrote user Tvcounselor.
